We lucked out with beautiful weather--not too windy. Enjoyed kayaking and hiking and relaxing at our camp site. Magical place.

Santa Cruz is a beautiful island, very simple and peaceful. There are several hiking options from the campgrounds offering hikes of different lengths. Snorkeling is wonderful along the kelp beds near Scorpion beach.

Santa Cruz Island was magical. We were here at the beginning of May. Everything was so green. Wildflowers were blooming everywhere. We stayed in group site C, which is an easy walk about 0.8 miles from the boat dock. The group sites are spread apart, most have some shade, and the bathrooms were kept clean, but there is only one for all the sites, so there was a long line in the morning. The hikes we did had spectacular views of the hills on one side, and ocean on the other. We will definitely be back!

This really is a unique place to stay. The camp is really close to the anchorage point so you can bring anything that you think you may need to be comfortable. There is water at the camp, but not on the rest of the island. There are plenty of "fox boxes" and you will need them! One of our campers left their flip flops right at the door of the tent only to find them missing the next morning! Seriously, put EVERYTHING in the boxes or in the tent. The foxes are cute, but relentless. Same to be said for the ravens. I thought I did a pretty good job of hiding my bag's zippers only to find that they opened my backpack and tried to find food. Back to the site though, the toilets were middle of the road pit toilets. Pretty stinky at times, but mostly clean. Camp is right by basically all the hiking routes. If you can manage to get a spot here, do it! It's pricey to get to the island, but the camp is affordable and well worth it! Enjoy!

We had a great experience! What a beautiful time of year to come and hike all over the island.
