Must have a tour booked to actually see the cliff dwellings. I really enjoyed the campgrounds!!

Amazing location with ruins and towering sandstone right at your door step. Amazing campfire chat led by Park Ranger Colin capped off and amazing stay at Gallo campground! Can't wait to get back!

If you go to Chaco you will need more than one day and that means you will camp in Gallo Campground. Camping at a historic place adds to your understanding of it. Be sure to talk to fellow campers and see what drew them to Chaco and to hear what amazes them. Enjoy the experience.

We hiked all the hikes in the Chaco guide. All were wonderful. Campground is simple yet comfortable with tie downs for tents. Very clean restrooms too. This is an awesome and inspiring place.

Extremely beautiful setting for this little campground close to rock walls and (IIRC) with view of Fajada Butte. I would happily stay there again primarily to see more of the Park's cultural sites and trails. Of course, by necessity, the campground has no shade tress and so little privacy.

This area is a sacred and absolute treasure. With water, flush toilets, and heated bathrooms! Don't change anything, including the roads.

Overall very good experience, reservations are difficult to manage without internet access, and some campsites remained empty with no shows. The volunteer was extremely helpful and competent.

We didn't go. I didn't see anywhere on the information that the road going out was a dirt, pothole , washboard mess. It was raining and became unpassable. Very slippery ... you migh want to put a warning on the site for others.

We were pleased with our campsite, which was very clean. The tent pad was nice with tie downs and large rocks other campers had left which we were able to use. The restrooms were clean and it was nice to have flush toilets and running water. There wasn't a fire ring, as stated in our reservations. It was a windy day, so we would not have had a fire anyway. We did see the rings being put back at the campsites as we were leaving the next day. We were glad we hadn't planned to cook our meal on that fire ring with grate.
