It was a wonderful experience! I was a solo female traveler and at 67, I took my first tent camping trip. I loved every minute of it. I felt safe the entire time! I highly recommend this wonder site. I recommend that you take some time in advance to read about Chaco Canyon and its story.

Fantastic campground. The scenery was beautiful. The restrooms are nice and clean. The dark skies were amazing. The host was helpful and friendly.

Pros: Fairly dark skies, good sites, nice comfort facilities, nice visitor ctr. & archaeological info.Cons: Rough road, no shade, some people arrived late & left motors running & headlights on

People were great to us. The people at the ranger station were great.

Great weekend and experience. I can't believe it took us as long to get there as it has, with it as close to home.

Love this campground though it is completely exposed so do not expect any shade during the day. It is well maintained with great bathroom facilities. Bring water! There is none on site. Also note that having a fire might be frowned on. We were asked to put ours out by the camp host for better star gazing which we thought was odd

Nice campground and National Park.

The campground was as expected. Well maintained and situated. The wind however was out of control. Constant gusts of 30 - 35 mph! The tent and I were able to handle the first night. But the next morning the wind shifted anhd was practically blowing the tent over. I had to pack up and move out.

The campground is pretty stark (no vegetation except scrubby desert bushes). There’s not much privacy between sites either. Bathrooms were clean though. It’s in a peaceful setting too with great star gazing.
