Clean and quiet. The camp host was helpful.

Nice campground. Bathrooms are tidy, so hosts obviously care about what they're doing. It's difficult to get to and can be very windy, so plan your trip accordingly.

Beautiful site, exceptionally clean (& warm) toilet facilities.

Everything was great except the road in. Doug and Justin were great guides!

The campground itself is fantastic. Spaces are decent spread out, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was accessible to hiking trails and a couple of alcove houses without even having to go into the main park itself. The rangers and camp host do a great job of keeping things tidy, enforcing quiet hours, and generally making the visitor stay a pleasant and memorable experience.

The hiking trails are great and history amazing. Great park volunteers that do great guided hikes. The campground bathrooms did not have hand soap or hot water.
The architect conservator did a wonderful lecture that was a last minute add that was wonderful.

Campground was tidy. Restrooms clean and heated enough to prevent frozen pipes. Flush toilets. Hand dryer was warm air - not the best during Covid. Only complaint was that drinking water supposedly available at the Visitor Center was not. The yard hydrant was frozen.

Quiet, calm and had beautiful views.

A standard NPS campground, with warm bathrooms! It was quite cold. Chaco is of course one of the world's great places.

I highly recommend this place. I have been there twice but if I could have more time I would love to spend more time there. This is a place where you can be connected with nature and forget about problems and the daily stressors of life.

Camped right in front of some ruins. Very cool place.

Very nice

Very quiet campground with great view of the stars. Bathroom was pretty nice, but you won't get a shower there. Would definitely stay in the campground again, but the road to get to Chaco is horrible.

There is no shade! Bring a tarp/umbrella to create shade at the campground.
@ErikC273 · Camped on May 28, 2021 at Campsite #26
Would recommend a shade structure.

Awesome campsite and clean facilities. 3 stars because the federal agent here is on a power trip. Seems to be a problem looking at other reviews. I've never been to a national park campground where the agent does a circle around everyone every hour.

Gallo is not just an ordinary campsite. The sites are well-spaced, the bathrooms are exceptionally clean, and the utility sink is handy. What sets Gallo apart is that you feel - all around you - that you are in a Cultural Center, with the freedom to explore and respect a canyon that was inhabited for centuries before your arrival. That awareness is humbling.
Random notes: the long and bumpy entrance road appears to deter gigantic RVs (it was great to see so many tents); the hike to see the Supernova pictograph is worth it. Mostly, our experience was tinged with a sense of reverence for the place and respect for the people who built the structures in the canyon.

Campground and park are awesome. The gravel roads getting there need some serious attention.
