The campsites were a bit close together, but we really enjoyed exploring Chaco Canyon. The road is very bumping coming in, so once you arrive, youll want to stay there for the duration of your trip.

the campground was clean and somewhat spacious. Bathrooms are heated and the is water there. There are some petroglyphs by the fire ring. :-). The roads can be a problem. I came in from the north and only had 5 miles of bad washboard road. I drove 5 mph..... it was bad enough that I was clear that I was not going to run to the store for anything! I went during the winter solstice. Temps dropped to 9 at night but were a balmy 40ish even 50 degrees during the day which made for nice hiking. A special/sacred place.

We arrived in the off-season and had our choice of sites. Each site has a fire pit and raised dirt pad area for your tent. We brought our own water and firewood. The bathrooms were simple, with one sink and a few stalls, and immaculate. It was fun to camp so close to a few small ruins, and observe a few canyon swallow nests up on the rock face. The road in was not as bad as others have stated in the past, but there were a few deep water bars to navigate, so drive slowly and keep an eye out.

I love Chaco Canyon it is my favorite place in the world. The campground is very clean and the restrooms and community sink are also very clean. The host at the campground Julia and Stephanie are the best ...Julia will be missed she retires at the end of the month . Thanks to all in Chaco to allow us to come and visit. Fellow camper advice please be aware it is a dark sky community please respect all who are trying to see the stars which the milky way is right above your head in the camp and remember to bring all you need there are no stores and who wants to go back out once you drive in ... Speaking of drives I've always came in thru the South just go slow and enjoy the drive and the cows

As with many campgrounds, going during a slow season will help avoid noisy neighbors. Chaco is best enjoyed in silence under the stars, and Gallo delivers. Water, restrrooms and even a dish wash station help make the experience even more comfy.

Beautiful camps with set-ups for tents, near the remains of ancestral Pueblo dwellings. Hosts were off duty so I cant speak to that, but upkeep was great.

No neighbors to the right and near the back of campground so Very quiet. Flush toilets nearby plus a sink to wash dishes. Mostly tent campers, vans and camper pickups. The night sky is brilliant. Small ruins are near the back of campsites. You can feel the history of this sacred place.

Nice restrooms, great campsite next to cliffs and ruins, appreciated the camp sink located between the bathrooms for washing up our dinner plates. The road is always mentioned: we came in from 550, which was rough, and left in the opposite direction towards Grants NM - that road was MUCH better!

Very quiet and peaceful, other campers were all friendly and full of recommendations. Bathroom facilities were surprisingly clean, thanks to the campground manager, also a nice person.

Beautiful location. Large picnic tables and good tent pad. Restrooms were clean and with water.

Only issue is generator noise and kids running around screaming in evening.
Most campers were quiet and respectful of the location. Also would be nice if they excluded dogs so you could enjoy a natural experience.

The campgrounds were beautiful and the bathrooms were clean and warm in the freezing winter. The water station was nearby so that was great.

Camped in a tent on a cold, clear night in December with one other camper in the entire campground. The campsite was beautiful and the campground well maintained with relatively new bathrooms. We brought in firewood to have a small campfire for warmth in the evening. Water is available at the bathrooms. The drive from 550 is easy to navigate in terms of signage, but the roads are not paved for several miles and at times are incredibly rough, even in a mid-size SUV. There were points where the conditions meant driving no faster than 5 mph due to intense vibrations and potholes. I would not hesitate to return to both the campground or Chaco.

The Park itself is amazing. The only complaint is that some other campers were clueless that this is a dark sky park. Had nights we could not sit out and view the stars as our neighbors had excessive bright lights even after their dinner and when they were sitting around campfire. Would be helpful to give instruction before and when checking into campground about dark sky etiquette to campers
