very nice small campground. hosts were very helpful and friendly.

We were in site 14. It was an amazing site with the river so close you can hear it, well maintained facilities (cleanest vault toilets ever) and the camp hosts were so pleasant and worked hard at keeping the grounds clean and kept up.

Months ago, we planned to camp at Fawn Lakes over the 4th of July holiday for about a week. The reservation system said that a few days right in the middle of the time were "First Come First Serve." So, I reserved the days before and after those days for two sites, and figured that since we would already be in the the sites, we'd be considered the first ones to come and the site would be ours for the entire time period. However, it appears that reservation.gov changed the First Come First Serve status of our two sites and made it available for reservation for those two nights. They didn't inform me about this, even though I had called to make sure that I was setting up my reservation properly. We were surprised when the camp host informed us that we had to vacate our spot because somebody else had reserved it for those couple of days right in the middle of our stay. Fortunately, the host was able to help us get other sites, but we weren't able to get back all of our money we'd spent to reserve those two original sites. The campground itself is lovely, and the camp hosts were very helpful. But the reservation system stinks. Either decide that you'll make sites First Come First Serve or not. Don't change their availability for reservations. And if you do change it, have the decency to contact people who have reserved those sites for the days before and after your First Come First Serve days.
