Nice place. Need a no generator rule.

Exceptionally clean vault toilets, well stocked. Sites were well maintained. Drinkable water available! The best non-electric campsite weve found!

The camp host was very helpful and friendly. She made our stay all the more enjoyable. The campgrounds and facilities were excellently maintained. We are planning to return next year. During our time the temperatures ranged from the upper 40's to lower 70's. There were several fellow campers who seemly ran their generators continuously during the permitted hours (6am - 10pm). We also stayed in Lincoln National Forest (Saddle campground) where the generator hours were more restrictive. This was a quieter stay.

This is a very busy campground at the side of a fairly busy highway so not the type of place I normally want to stay at. However the campground host and hostess were VERY Diligent about their duties - out houses were clean, camp sites also. There was a huge rainstorm and they were out the next morning clearing the flood debris off of the campground road.

The campground was a bit cramped and there was no access to a bike path as was advertised. The recreation.com website advised to coordinate with the camp host with regards to where to park my ATV trailer but when I got there, the camp hosts were not accommodative at all, they were a bit cranky. The campsite "worked" for the 4 nights we were there, but not the best camping experience I have had. If you have a small trailer or tent, the campground works better than it did with my 25ft RV pulling an ATV trailer. Don't expect the camp hosts to be "plugged-in" to Recreation.gov. They definitely aren't.

We had an excellent campground host. The site was clean when we arrived, and the campground was clean overall.Our site, #14, was difficult for us to back the travel trailer into. I had to first pull into the site directly across the road and then back into ours. It would have been much easier to back a trailer into coming from the opposite direction, but it is a 1-way road.

Not sure where youd put a tent in this spot but I was car camping so it didnt matter. Steps down to the fire ring & picnic table. Was able to call & text on Verizon but not much else. Quiet campground. Bathrooms were super clean.

Great camp ground. Wished they would add a little dirt so it wasnt such a drop off at the edge of the asphalt. Always enjoy Red River. Great family town.

We had a great site in a beautiful campground. It is located uphill from the highway. We had the feeling of being in the trees. The site was very clean and mostly in perfect condition. The only minus is the driveway that needs to be repaved. The bathroom was spotless after cleaning and had no typical vault toilet smell. The Camp Host was very meticuluous about cleaning the bathroom.Red River is a fun little town. It is clear the community takes pride in its appearance.A number of hikes are located a short distance from the campground.

Water is only available to fill jugs, they removed the ability to connect a hose.

Very well maintained campground, and it feels remote.
@BryanB5307707 · Camped on May 26, 2025 at Campsite #8
The campsites were all really well maintained and the host was great. Red River being so close made it easy to pick up anything we needed, and the drive up wasn't too bad.

Nice and quiet. Near the road, but almost no traffic at night. Plenty of room between campsites.

The particular sIte (5) was great. They're spread out a little, so you don't feel you're on top of each other. The campground hosts were really nice and helpful. There were several water spigots, so it wasn't a huge walk to get to/from one with a big jug. And the water tasted good and was clear/colorless (some places it's hit or miss, although always tested safe). Little bit of road noise as trucks go up/down past, but trailed off after dark and not much of an issue during the nighttime. Red River is close (maybe 5 minutes) and Taos and other nice places to see the other direction not too far (30-60 minutes).

Great camp ground, the bathrooms were immaculate for being a vault toilet. Slight road noise from the main road that runs past it but it's hardly noticeable. Our only issue was the fact that we have a very large tent and it wouldn't fit in the plot we originally chose online so we talked to the hosts and they let us move to a different one where we were barely able to fit it. I will say for most people this won't be an issue as our tent is 16ft x 16ft so if you're anywhere smaller than that you're good to go! Plus the hosts letting us move was very nice and accommodating of them! They sell firewood at the front and there were water spigots throughout the campground for easy filling. Close to town and in a really pretty place, would highly recommend!

My wife and I had a totally awesome stay at the campground. The camp hosts were extremely cordial and helpful. They informed us of the various sites in the area such as the ski lift in town (Red River) that was operating and Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. They also had restaurant recommendations for Red River. During our stay, they were busy restoring historic park signs (sanding and re-painting). Quite an awesome job they were doing. The park was clean and well maintained with lots of towering pine trees. Potable water is available, spigots are scattered around the park, however no dump station or electrical hookups.

Stayed in site four in a 27 ft class c motor home. I had to stack five high with my nesting blocks to get level back to front. Side angle was minimal. Site was well maintained by park hosts. There is some road noise so be aware. Always had at least two bars of Verizon extended service. Overall a very good stay from August 14 thru August 18, 2023.

Bathrooms had unbearable smell. Too close to highway, you could hear cars passing at night.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
