Always love to stay at Columbine. Plenty of shade trees, the river running through the camp, cool, quiet, and the spots are spread out enough you are still in relative seclusion. The columbine trailhead being in the back of the camp is an added bonus. Don't have to drive anywhere to get in a good hike. Facilities and toilets are clean, and they have potable water. Definitely one of my family's favorite locations to camp.

The location is fabulous. It's nice to be close to a town. The drawback was the campground hosts driving around in a noisy golf cart along with all the campers that had generators running. The noise is a huge turn off for me. If that isn't a bother - this is a perfect campsite.

We loved Columbine Campground! From the babbling brook that ran alongside our campsite to the majestic cliffs, the amusing chipmunks and birds, and the friendly neighboring campers, it was a treat to spend a few days here. The camp host, Laura, was also very helpful. We were there just a few days before the campground closed, and the only hiccup was that there was no firewood for sale so we had a chilly first night and morning there. The Columbine Canyon trail at the end of the campground was lovely for hiking. We also went biking in Angel Fire and did a little souvenir shopping in Red River. Questa was close by for immediate needs, but for the most part we were just happy hanging out in the campground.

We love the large well-spaced campsite at #15, the area was clean and well maintained, and the hiking trail up from the parking lot was great.
