We love this campsite but the current camp host, Paula, was so difficult that we are unsure whether we want to return after almost 20 years. Paula constantly lectured us about rules and repeatedly threatened to return with rangers/sheriffs to kick us out and ban us. We appreciate that Paula takes her job seriously, however, we were following the rules throughout our visit and were targeted based on being a large group with dogs. Paula told us about issues with dogs in the past and assumed our dogs would do the same even though we didn’t break rules. We come camping to enjoy leisure time and constant (literally every hour or two) lectures from Paula were a huge detriment.

Paula was constantly speeding around the area in her golf cart through campsites creating dust, lecturing, and cutting new paths where only small foot paths previously existed. Sites which could be previously accessed by road or footpath now have a large golf cart roads directly through the sites or the picnic table and the firepit.

Paula gave dog owners the same lecture repeatedly. Before we could arrive to the designated site, Paula stopped us on the road and instructed us about dog leash rules, cleaning dog waste, and attending to our dog- all before the dog even had the opportunity to get out of the car! She also invented rules, not posted on any official FS site, about staying in designated sites with dogs and not allowing dogs to visit other sites, even though these are GROUP campsites, meant to be shared.

Paula lectured us about cleaning up upon arrival, despite that sites were littered with micro trash and dog poop when we arrived, which we cleaned throughout our visit and checked for before leaving. Paula also lectured about quiet hours, which we understand and respect, but do not think it is necessary to go to bed at 10pm, especially when our group had the entire site. Paula threatened us even when we were only talking in a small group without music or any other loud noises.

We love the peaceful quietness of the campground. The Host was great and went out of her way to help us get settled in. We will be back.
