It's a nice campground very close to the new store in Alpine. It has a lot of shaded sites which kept the RV cool but did make solar charging a challenge. The host Ron did a fine job keeping the vault toilets as clean and smell free as possible. Also another reviewer complained about the host Ron keeping a close eye on the campers and demanding quiet. We were camped the same day and this reviewer was in charge of a bunch of teenage boys who were yelling at the top of their lungs all morning. It was very disturbing since we were trying to concentrate on a project. We're very glad Ron asked them to quiet down.

Alpine North Campground is a delightful resting spot on the shore of Palisades Reservoir just north of the town of Alpine, Wyoming, and is on the border with Idaho.

The campground, located at an elevation of 5,640 feet, has 16 single-family campsites and three group sites that can accommodate up to 50 people each.

There's drinking water but no electricity or dump station. Individual campsites were spacious and semi-private.

The campsites closer to U.S. Highway 26 may have been subject to noise from passing traffic, but we didn't notice any road noise at our site.

The camp host, Paula, receives rave reviews from some guests and blistering ones from other visitors. We found her friendly and looked for us to have an enjoyable time.

She has painted numerous rocks, leaving ladybug designs outside the restroom buildings and at her campsite. They added to the campground's atmosphere.

We had a great time staying for one night before continuing on to the Headwaters Campground at Flagg Ranch between the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

We only spent one night at Alpine North, to break up the distance as we drove from Boise to the Headwaters at Flagg Ranch campground. We arrived after dark but were greeted by Paula, the camp host, to welcome us to the campground and see if there was anything we needed. We liked the spacious campsite and found we were far enough away from the highway that we didn't hear any road noise through the night. The next morning, Paula stopped by as we were getting ready to leave. I complimented her on her painted rocks found at her campsite and which she had left outside the vault toilet buildings. They helped liven up the campground. We were dismayed by many online reviews that criticized Paula. She's a stickler for rules and it appears people who don't like her tended to be campers who didn't want to follow the rules. We appreciated her dedication and friendliness. I also liked that she messaged us a couple of days before our reservation to see whether we still planned on coming there. If not, there would have been time to cancel the reservation and let someone else reserve the site.

The lake was way way down. We bought fishing licenses to fish while there and couldn't get to the water (well what water they did have) because you would sink to your knees trying to get to the water's edge.

Recreation.gov you need to post lake conditions so that folks know what going on in the area before they drive 2000 miles to see and empty lake.

Nice privacy, easy access off the road and well marked. Very friendly hostess. Do not get the sites by the pit toilets.

Excellent campground to stop by on your way through Alpine. It’s close to the Highway but feels secluded. It is by far the cleanest campground I have ever stayed at, including the bathrooms. Paula, the campground host, was very friendly and took good care of us.

Campground host Paula was amazing.
The only complaints we have is that the outhouses needed to be emptied and the trash bins were overflowing.
The cleanliness was not any issue, it just needed to be emptied.
