Lots of visitors during our 7 day rental. 50+ on one day. Both tours and individuals. Planning on bringing a barrier to let folks know it's a rental... maybe a sign?Still fun and plan to return.

Beautiful location and easy to get there. This was unfortunate because tuns of people basically walked through the front yard. Cabin is rustic but a nice space. There was a basement full of fire wood that was moldy and nasty. It was way too busy with other people for me and not the outdoor experience we were looking for.

Absolutely Stunning place nice big cabin too! The problem was tonz of people showing up at 1 point, 6 cars showed up and surrounded our 13 and 6 year old so they came running back n was just gonna wait till they were done swimming and then the people set up pavilions and had a full blown family reunion up and down the river in total we saw at least 13 cars some people respectful and nice some not so much our poor dogs had to stay inside cause people that had dogs just had them roaming free n we couldn't n wouldn't chance a fight or something so the people were just as exhausting as when we stayed at a hotel in town. It beautiful though, of course bring bug spray and yr Citronella candles and expect lots of visitors.

There is a lot to like about this cabin. It is absolutely beautiful. What I wish I had known before I went was how busy it was. We stayed Sunday night through Thursday morning. When we arrived people were using the picnic table and fire pit at the cabin. Everyday we saw at least 50 people or more. Plus several construction crews and forest service people doing work in the area. The vault toilet that serves for the cabin is also used by everybody that comes in and out. It is a beautiful location and a spacious cabin. However, knowing what I know now, I think I would visit the area and stay somewhere else. If you're a people person and you don't mind the crowds, this is a wonderful place to be.

I will always stay here when I can. It's such a beautiful place to be. The water is cold, the trails are beautiful. It's so peaceful when there is no one else around. The cabin itself is pretty old but it's still fun and it holds my little family really well. I will try to rent this every year. It's a great place to get away!

I was traveling through the area on a move, so I was unfamiliar with this wilderness. I chose a cabin for added safety in grizzly country. I came in at night using Google maps, and there were ponds in the middle of the road the whole way from the highway. I was not in an off-road vehicle but also did not know the roads would be impassable to a rented cabin maintained by the forest service. Somehow I made it there with lucky driving, but the cabin was very cold, and as the wood was downstairs in an unlit cellar, I had no idea there was more wood for the stove until the morning. I high centered on the way out after sliding off a bank of mud, alone with my puppy. Miraculously, I found power lines intersecting the road not far from my car. When I called the forest service in a slight panic because I don't know anyone within states of me, they said they couldn't help. "We don't send people." So with a dying phone, I called around more for help, and finally the sheriff's office gave a number for a couple towing companies. It was 300 bucks to just have a pickup pull me from the mud, but I was ecstatic to get out of there. I certainly made mistakes continuing on this journey once I saw the road at night, but I did not know where else to go. The forest service will not help you, even in dire situations. Hunters passed me as I was stranded and urgently warned me of grizzlies, and I could hear a pack of wolves or dogs howling in the distance. When I finally returned to the ranger's office to return the key, I saw multiple forest service pickups sitting in the parking lot. They could have been there so much quicker than a tow, especially given the complexity of backcountry USFS roads. It was difficult trying to communicate my location to the people actually willing to help. I hope one day whatever policies kept the USFS from helping me in any way will change. Receiving no help from them was not just logistically difficult with my dying phone but emotionally jarring as well.

I really enjoyed this cabin very much. It is in such a beautiful place and the cabin itself is very nice. I loved the stoves; they kept the cabin warm on a cold night. I found it clean and well stocked. Thanks for this treasure.

This is a beautiful area that is easy to get to. It was nice for one time but we won't be back. We've stayed in many FS cabins- I'm fine with no bathroom and no electricity but not having running water made things hard. I would recommend to people that if they rent this cabin to rent it during the week. We had visitors to the springs on the weekdays but on Saturday there were hoards of people and the only way they can get to the springs is by walking on the lawn in front of the cabin. It made me feel bad we were there and made the experience uncomfortable.

The cabin was a little dusty and smelled like the smoke from the CA fires. But otherwise, it was great. This is our third year in a row coming to the cabin and we love it. We'll definitely be back.

Cabin was great, plenty of room for everyone. Fire kept things cozy in the morning and evening, wood stove works well. We didn't use the kitchen wood stove, but it looks functional. We walked the trail, berries everywhere and watched deer feeding on the aquatic plants in the river. We didn't have much luck fishing. There were OHV, but they were usually quiet. Our trip was in early August. Would definitely do it again.

This is a quaint little cabin at the bottom of a ravine. Its very rustic and you cannot beat the scenery.I live it here! The beds are adequate and the water is cold! Be sure to bring some downloaded music or a stereo to listen to music. Many previous cabin mates have left basics such as napkins, candles, mosquito sprays, and plastic utensils still in their boxes for others to use. I cannot stress enough mosquito spray. They are tolerable but you WILL probably get bit (in the summer). Be sure to bring something to cover the windows if you don’t like being in a fishbowl. Bring sheets for the mattresses and blankets are more than adequate in the summer. Oh and the middle room, if it gets too humid aka leaving wet clothes/towels in there with you, the fire alarm goes off. We learned that the hard way a few times in the middle of the night. Bring your own air freshener for the bathroom! It gets cleaned once a weekish. Bring water shoes if you plan to wade in the water and you will enjoy it to the fullest. I recommend a canopy to go over the picnic table with a privacy wall to shield from all the visitors looking at the falls. Mice have been known to be around, (We had no incidents) so make sure you have place to store your dry food safely and INSIDE. There WILL be visitors asking how to rent and possibly if they could take a look at the cabin. So just be prepared for those that ignore the “Respect cabin renters privacy” signs. Its not frequent but it happens. If you have a good book or game you don’t use or play anymore, feel free to bring one and leave it. Others have kindly left some of these for other cabin people to enjoy as well. And lastly, always leave the place better then when you found it. Enjoy!

Beautiful location. Classic old FS Guard Station. A little musty inside, but the mattresses were surprisingly good. Plenty of firewood blocked up and ready for visitors. Not exactly private with a trailhead there and the only public toilet in miles. Didn't check to see if our cell phones worked.

The cabin was very busy with visitors, don't go expecting any sort of solitude. Also, the cabin was in dire need of a deep clean as previous occupant(s) had done a poor job of upkeep, there was even a dead mouse in one of the kitchen drawers. The mosquitoes were absolutely horrendous and we couldn't keep them out of the cabin, it seems most of the window screens needs repairs. We ended up checking out a day early since it getting miserable, this is coming from 4 mountain men who have spent a week every year for 6 years in a Firetower. The only reason for 3 stars is the location is absolutely stunning.
