The vault toilets were spotless and smelled great(for vault toilets). The host came and introduced himself right away and gave us some wonderful ideas of what to do and he even gave us a map(super helpful) that helped us find the rail trail and some other scenic places. Must sees are the Falls of course but also the Warm Springs Cabin area and the rail trail. We also went to Ashton and found the best Huckleberry milkshake at the Frostop Drive In.

Loved our campsite- 001. It was a double site with plenty of space for 2 RV’s and also has a tent pad, 2 picnic tables, a firepit with grate for cooking, and electric hookup!!! Note: there was no water hookup at your campsite but it was a few feet away with well water that is clean enough to drink! They test it every two weeks. This campground does not offer a dump site for RV’s. We rv’d and tented but some in our party used the restrooms they have there. Bathrooms were immaculate!!!! So clean and did not stink at all! You could tell the camp host Kim takes good care of these campgrounds. He was super nice and was helpful with anything we needed. This campground has only 9 sites which is nice because it keeps it clean and quiet. We had spotty cell service (Verizon) but it did come in and out. Just outside of the campground is a parking lot with an overlook for the Mesa Waterfalls open to the public. It never got busy and no visitors ever tried to come into the campsite. One other thing to note is that Rec.gov maps of campsite is turned around as our site was at the beginning of the campsite and on their map it shows it is at the end. Yellowstone was about an hour drive away. We didn’t have any encounters with bears or wildlife although some campers told us a few days before an adolescent black bear was spotted at the campgrounds. Pets are allowed at this campground so we brought our fur babies with us. There were plenty of trees and vegetation behind our site for our girls to run around and poo/pee. Overall - this was a great campground and great experience for us.

Nice, quiet, small campground! Only 8 campsites & they are all very private and well spaced out! We very much enjoyed our 10 stay & the campground host Kim is very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Firewood is $6 a bundle. Electric hookup only, but there are plenty of water spigots available throughout the campground that you can refill your tanks with. There’s a dump station in Ashton at the visitors center that costs $5 via debit or credit card, it’s about a 20 mile ride. Phone, text and internet service is next to none and we have Verizon, not sure how the other companies service would be. Bring mosquito spray cause they are thick!! Mesa Falls is super close. The lower falls is free and within walking distance from the campground and the upper falls is a couple of miles down the road and costs $5. Yellowstone is about an hour drive to the west gate, Craters of the Moon National Monument is about 2hrs. 15 mins. If you wanna unplug, relax and unwind this is you place to accomplish that!!

Upon arrival there was some confusion about our reserved site and it was two hours of waiting for the host to arrive in order to get it straighted out not knowing if we were going to be able to stay. It was a beautiful and peaceful stay after that. We will stay many more times in the future.
