Small pretty campground. The dumpsite is before you enter the campground to the left. They have bathrooms with 1 shower in each. The lake was really low but you were able to still get to it. They lowered the ramp some for boats. Sites were level. W&E hookups. There is nothing out there, the closest store is about 35 mins away so make sure to get gas and stock up before heading out there.

The positive aspect of electric power issues and water shut off is that it was quiet with few campers most of the time. Restrooms are closed as well until power is restored for water operation. Restrooms have been replaced with portapotties. Bring extra toilet paper since portapotties are used by everyone, ie, runs out of paper quickly. Bring all the water you will need. There is water available outside of the campground at one of the day use areas. Cell service was very bad, even with the Weboost, ie, had to keep rebooting my phone. We had a peaceful visit.

Many issues at this campground. Bathrooms are often out of order (no hot water, showers offline, stalls closed down, no TP, etc). The camp host has a noisy dog that barks constantly. The campground is very popular with local homeless and is frequently populated with unhoused people. Generally an unsafe vibe now. It is noisy at this campground and rangers wont do anything about aggressive dogs brought by the unhoused. Lots of creepy people in old rundown vans camping the full two weeks. The campground is also a mess. Lots of trash on the trails and in camp. Avoid this campground if you have an alternative.

I have camped here over a dozen times and love it. The staff and volunteers at this park are very professional and helpful. Eastman Lake is one of the best run parks/campgrounds I have ever visited. The park is beautiful and abundant with wildlife: coyotes, turkeys, eagles, rabbits, bobcats, etc.The best time to visit is before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. It is blazing hot and dry (100 and up) in July and August with sparse shade available, so its better to camp elsewhere in the summer. If fishing or boating are your thing, Eastman Lake really delivers. The best time to visit for boating is in the Spring when the lake level is high. The lake level can sometimes be quite low by the end of Summer.Note that camp is rather far from town or any services. The closest gas station or market is 30 minutes away. Also note that even though it appears close to Yosemite on the map, the drive from this location is 2+ hours on narrow forest roads each way. This campground is not an ideal base for Yosemite visitors...it is better co camp closer to YNP if that is your destination.Weekends can be noisy. There is a group camp adjacent to the family campground that they rent out. Group camp sometimes hosts 100+ campers and this can get quite noisy, especially when group camp uses amplified music or sound equipment. Last autumn a church group rented group camp for a full week overlapping my stay and they blasted church music and preaching across the campground between the hours of 9am and 9pm. It was anything but peaceful, so your mileage may vary if you are unlucky to book during a group camp week. The Wildcat campground is a hidden gem. Although it lacks hookups, the campsites are beautiful and some have amazing views. The Wildcat campground has fewer visitors and is more private, too. Most of the campers who stay here are nice, friendly and courteous.
