Beautiful campground, peaceful even with the generator running. Minus 1 star for the cold shower : (

We come here every month. This time we brought our bikes and road 39 miles around the campgrounds and roads.

This campground has enforced one way traffic in the campground this year. This accounts for 8 sites out of 22 in one campground that require you park with your door facing the road This requires you exit your RV into the street. Of course this does not allow the use of your awning. This is not conducive and could be very dangerous with children exiting the RV. We have been camping at Buckhorn Campground for approximately 25 years. Have never seen this rule enforced nor have we seen accidents prior to this policy enforcement.Change routing on the center road (sites13-16). Please consider a change to allow people to park RVs for appropriate use.

Very clean campground. Park Rangers were around all of the time so no riff-raff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Buckhorn. This was our first time here and was very satisfied. We have a 27 ft toy hauler trailer. Our site (#18) was more than big enough for the truck and trailer with the ramp down. We didn't have a lakeside site but we could see the lake and sunrise off the back. Sites are well spaced. We never visited the site restrooms since we had our own. There is a dump station that I didn't use but from a far it looked like a really tight turn getting into it which may be a problem for bigger rigs. There is an ohv area nearby and lake access/ boat ramp at the campground. Our visit was in October. This is a spring/fall campground because in the summer it is HOT! The pull thru sites are tandem style sites. The road is 2 lanes wide with no vehicles at the sites. That makes the sites well spaced. There is a volleyball pit and horseshoe pits located in the center of the campground. We will camp here again.

We had a wonderful time but the water was so low. Our slide did not work and the wonderful camp host researched and came back to assist. We got on the road and home. The camp host and his wife are so nice and helpful. They were our rv angels.

Love Black Butte. Burris Creek, Grizzly Flat and Buckhorn area have great hiking and biking trails. Buckhorn camp is a little cramped on top but fishermen's cove area has lots of sites..but not open in winter. Hate new winter reservation system. So be sure to check reservation.gov before u come. Over all great place.
