First let me explain the 4-star rating. There is a lot of road noise as the park borders Interstate 5. Extremely convenient but loud. For sleeping it was fine as white noise but during the day there’s no break.
I put this up front because everything else is simply fantastic! For $25 ( we paid half because of disability), you couldn’t ask for more. Beautiful sites nestled into towering ponderosa pine trees. Restrooms right now include “temporarily free” showers! Water spigot at our site. Hiking trails to Sacramento River .4 miles away. And, of course, breathtaking view of Castle Crags.
Should add fresh mountain air, deep blue skies, chipmunks to perk Kyoto’s interest (Kyoto is our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and squirrels.
This may be added to my list of favorites just because of the beauty and value. A true hidden gem.
