2nd time we have stayed here, always a great time, nice updates to the cabin, spent most time on the pouch just watching the humming birds and enjoying the view and surroundings, when you go be sure to visit the local bar and restaurant, road can be a bit bumpy but enjoy the drive and beauty of God's creation.

I really enjoyed my time at the Atlanta Cabin. It's definitely a lot more off the beaten path than I'm used to, but it was worth it. It was nice having the Beaver Lodge so close and lots of great hikes and hot springs nearby.

Dusty from traffic next to cabin.

the cabin was better than expected, the view in the morning watching the sun break over the mountains is fantastic.
Sleeping beds are ok, we didn't use the fold out couch, could easily sleep 4-5, if you all liked each other :-)
I WOULD book the cabin again, Atlanta is a very neat small community, the hot springs is a must.
The cabin has all you really need to cook, nice fridge, some pots and pan.

Beautiful view, all the amenities you need. We had forestry workers camping next to us. They were polite and respectful of our solitude.

The cabin was nicer than I expected. I've rented other FS cabins before where the equipment did not always work. The Atlanta Cabin, everything was in working order - fridge, microwave, hot water, indoor toilet, etc. The major drawback was the double bed in the kitchen. The first night I had a few welts in the morning and thought it was from my activities from the day - hot springs and hiking. Maybe I didn't notice being bit. However, the second night and in the morning, my torso was covered in bites/welts. I think the cabin has bed bugs. On closer examination of the bed, there were little dark specks which were likely dead bugs. When I contacted the FS office in Idaho City, because of COVID protocol they were not in the office. I left a message on Tuesday 06/08 and have not heard a peep from them and it's 06/14. Maybe they've acted on my message, but I would at least expect a response back to me on it being mitigated or asking for further information. Bed bugs are a serious matter and if the FS did nothing, it's too bad that the following renters are going to run into the same issue. I left a writtne message on the bed, so maybe this is enough to help. Overall, great cabin, but disappointed by the lack of FS response.

A nice cabin amungst a forest service compound. Close to town but far enough away to drown out the sound of the Razers some. Clean and tidy.

This was the greatest trip to Atlanta. We soaked in Chattanooga and got a tour of the town from local historian, Miles. He was amazing and showed us a great time. The cabin needs a few minor repairs but I suppose that helps make it feel rustic. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch watching the deer. We will definitely be regular guests of Atlanta. We had a good time overall.
The maintenance could have been better. Both screen door handles were broken, and it wasn't a recent thing. So I question the frequency of regular maintenance. We almost got locked out because both screen doors were shut tight and with broken handles it was hard to get through the door. But since the front door was also off level, all we had to do was wiggle it and it popped open.

It's also the only cabin we've been to that required our dog to be leashed when outside. We weren't prepared for that. We have a long line for her.

We also had to gather wood. Not a big deal but other ranger districts provide wood. Again, not a big deal.

But we had a good time. It was quiet and peaceful. We explored the town and went swimming in the river.

The drive was harrowing but exciting! This was our second visit to Atlanta, the first about 13 years ago, and we were surprised by the growth. The cabin is in a nice location, but the bed could use replacing. It was very uncomfortable. Rustic would be a nice way to describe it, but I would probably go with old and run down. I was sort of wishing we'd decided to camp in our own tent. That opinion changed the next morning when we found bear clawmarks at every door handle of our truck. Fortunately we had locked it! Smart bear.All in all, our trip was fun. We were worried about having enough gas to get back, and someone directed us to a gentleman in a trailer who sold it to us for $5/gal. We were happy to get it! I love adventures, and this was one. We will return but stay in our tent or some other cabin.

The location, the view, the area and the town of Atlanta itself were all wonderful. The cabin is cute but rustic. I loved the front porch. The beds are not the best. I'll bring a sleeping bag and a foam pad next time.

The cabin is very well equipped. If we would have known so much was there, we could have left half the equipment home. We had a great time visiting the local hot springs and playing games at night. Wish we could have spent more nights. We are already planning another trip to go back.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
