Nice cabin, we did deep clean after some ridiculous dog lover that didnt care about other people and had his dog all over couch, dogHair was all over the rugs and hasnt cleaned up yard from poop (I use to think pet lovers are more intelligent but ohh well) anyway it should be good now also caught one mice and after that no more noise or sign of them, skunk smell mentioned in other reviews is still slightly present.

There was very active rodent activity inside the cabin. Mouse poop all over kitchen. There is also a skunk living under the house and it's strong smells came up into bedroom and contaminated clothing and bags. The skunk needs to be relocated.

This was an awful trip due to overwork & vile odors! We weren't pre-notified skunks are NOW living under cabin; it reeks. When we first stepped in the back door, the smell was overwhelming! It was so strong one could almost taste the acridness of the odor. Try sleeping when one's nose & throat are burning from skunk fumes. (The camp host said he believed they were living under the cabin - primarily, "under the bedroom".) There is an extensive mouse problem; we caught mice 8/10 nights & the couch mattress cover had 50-60 plus mice droppings that had to be cleaned off w/ Clorox wipes before a sleeping bag could be laid out on it. Beside the rancidity, this year the cabin was in horrible need of cleaning. (The camp host suggested it was the fault of the previous renter - a man with two teenage boys who stayed for a month. He said he "had to scrape the remains of their breakfast food from the stove and wipe it down...") The kitchen refrigerator shelves still had food particles stuck to them & there was blood from meat that had leaked across and down the bottom shelf along the walls which dried & glued the shelf to the mounting features; it was still pooled under the vegetable drawer, letting off a fetid stench. It needed soaked & cleaned to be useable so it wouldn't contaminate the food stuffs we brought. The freezer part was full of old ice particles; it had to be scraped down to remove the ice before our frozen foods would fit. Last summer I beat, then shook the rugs & rug-runners because they were so dirty- sweeping them raised clouds of dust when I followed the cleaning rules of the cabin. This year was FAR worse! There were piles of dust underneath & dirt ridges along the carpets; I had to clean all rugs; damp mop the floors & apply coating. Overall, I put a total of 3 coats of Murphy soap on the entire cabin floors & 2-4 more to the main walking areas during our stay. *This cabin has NO running water; it must be hauled from hot spring runoff stream or river.

The dishes were not cleaned by prior guest. There is a real mouse problem. Mouse poop in the beds and in the cooking pots. So glad we brought some of our own cookware and plates.

Great place, stayed warm, cabin has a lot of furnishings for cooking. Looking forward to our next stay there!

The cabin was perfect, location perfect, and scenery stunning. The hot springs were too hot to use, but beautiful. We enjoyed watching 3 moose walk by the cabin. 10 out of 10 experience.

Awesome place. Just wish we would have stayed behind some other people that also understood the concept of leaving a space better than you found it.

Nice improvements since the last time we stayed here in 2005, though too bad all chance of the former indoor running water has now been eliminated - though it was no longer working when we were last there! The new beds are horrible, whatever govt. functionary bought them should be forced to sleep on them until they admit the error of their ways! We both gave up on them during the first night and moved to the hide-abed, which though much better still resembles a hammock; which our 60+ year old backs didn't like. If we'd been there a third night, we would have ignored the beds on offer and brought in our own $25 air mattress, and slept much better! Though pretty sure the "mattresses" will last the life of the cabin.
As before, a very nice location; and despite the toilet now being shared with the general public nobody did - but several looky-loos had to follow the trail around the entire cabin perimeter, didn't use to have a fence around the compound; or feel like it needed one. We could happily have stayed there another few weeks!

Lovely time, lots of foot traffic past the cabin but it was enjoyable the cabin is in beautiful shape.

Our stay here was a highlight, if not *the* highlight, of a fun two-week road trip through Idaho. The pictures and descriptions really didn't do it justice. For starters, the meadow s beautiful, and it's hard to know which way to turn between the hot springs a hundred feet away in one direction and the river a hundred feet away in the other. We visited in early October, after the campground had closed, and only four hikers each day passed along the adjacent trail. The cabin is great, too--spacious, functional, and well enough insulated that we didn't even bother using the wood stoves at night. Even the beds exceeded expectations; they're not big or fancy, but I have a bad back and I slept well both nights. We'd love to visit again someday.

The bats freaked me out but no one else was bothered by them. Quite a few people walking through to get to the hot springs..but all nice folks. It was a good visit!!!

Wonderful time! Best part is our kids with no cell service and they loved it too! There are some res spider mites on the rocks at the hotsprings, be careful and read ahead on how to avoid problems! Only 2 of us got bites, but on one person it was like 100 bites!

This is one of our favorite cabins to spend time at. I would rate it over 5 stars normally, but we were a little disappointed with our last stay. The cabin is wonderful-we always go during the winter so we can snowmobile in and play in the snow. And we have always had a great time. We even saw a cougar this time! I love the gas fridge, stove/oven, and the fireplace and wood make it oh so cozy and warm. Our disappointment with the stay this time was how dirty the cabin was. It is really sad to see some people don't seem to leave the place cleaner than they found it. The dishes were greasy, the floor was horrible. We took out all the rugs and shook them clean, wiped everything down with Clorox wipes (that we brought) and would hope that in the future, be respectful and clean up after yourselves!

Very fun rustic cabin with some creature comforts as well. The setting is gorgeous and we had a great time.
Note to the property manager: That couch has to go. It beckons you in with the illusion of comfort and then tries to swallow you in a mess of dust and worn-out couch springs sticking into your back. Foolish visitors such as myself may fall for this prank more than once in a weekend at the cabin.

It was a great time! We went during the summer though so the horse flies were awful... pack spray! Very cool to see the bats fly out at night. Beds were not very comfortable which is pretty common for these older cabins so bring a few things to make yourself a little more comfy. Awesome fishing/swimming hole about 1/4 of a mile from the cabin. Brought coolers since we didn’t think there would be a fridge but pleasantly surprised to find one! Great get a way for hot springs, hiking and fishing!
