This is God's country and if you can't help protect nature then you don't deserve places like this.

We stayed at site T18. The site is relatively small, but it is on a lush green mountain top. We had to drive the wrong way on the road to orient ourselves correctly at the site, but that wasn't an issue. The site was asphalt and very uneven. The bathrooms were clean, but no showers. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The camp host was great.Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalaccia wineries are nearby and make an excellent option for spending an afternoon. Floyd, VA is a quaint town about 20 minutes away with the Buffalo Mountain Brewery, an eclectic pub with some great beer. The senior discount ($10 per night) makes this a must return location.

Peaceful piece of paradise to escape from the business of life. No hookups, but there are water fill and dump stations. There is organized live music on Saturday evenings. Close to Mabrys Mill, Floyd, and Chateau Morissette. Just enough signal on the Verizon network to make phone calls.

Great campground with a quite and spacious atmosphere. Get away from the hustle and bustle and spend a little time here off the grid.

Rocky Knob may be my new favorite campground. It's a beautiful place in a parklike setting. We hiked the Castle Gorge loop and, although it was a tough hike, it was very nice with great views from the high pastures. The camp host and the rangers I met really seemed dedicated to the campground and the parkway. We've camped there twice this summer for almost a week each time, and enjoyed every minute. Like most of the campgrounds on the Parkway, the facilities are limited, but that's a plus for us, as it keeps the crowds down and makes it easy to get a site. On the other hand, if there were showers, a lot more people would be willing to camp there and get to enjoy the place.

I beautiful rustic campground. No extras, showers, hookups etc. However a beautiful natural setting, well maintained and restrooms are clean. What more could a person ask for! We'll be back!
