We loved this rustic campground. We saw only 1-2 other campers during our august trip. It's primitive but you can drive or walk to the lodge and enjoy a great dinner in their restaurant if you don't feel like cooking out. Nice variety of trails for all levels of hikers. Kids enjoyed the ranger offerings and we hiked up to the old homestead and spoke to the interpretive volunteers. Took the bus to the top of the mountain. Trails up there were a little overgrown, but worth the view! Bring bug spray as the gnats were up enjoying the view too.

Steps mentioned in earlier review are repaired and appear new. Site somewhat unlevel but it is with a dip in the middle so good positioning means level is not a problem. Very nice campground. Under utilized when we were there in August. Fully shaded site.

The rangers are very helpful. We switched to a different site and the ranger helped to get it worked out. Great campground.

Nice sized site. It’s definitely not level, so we had to put the trailer up on blocks. That’s not a big deal if staying more than 1 night. Lots of wood laying around to burn, which is nice, we were able to have a nice fire to cook on.

Saw deer almost every day. Sights are small but was a very peaceful place.

Fantastic area and the sites are placed with good space between ideal for those that don't like fell of being in someone else backyard. Excellent hikes (we did not have experience and ranging from 8 to 47 in age) Shops have some camping supply's and all you need for daytrips. Just missing showers! Please note there are no showers and no lake to take a dip in here. But saw bears and deers was grasing next to the van!
