There were no campers here, no staff, our tent site was taped off and there was a broken table top across from it. There are road closers on either side of this campground on the Blueridge Parkway making it difficult to get to or away from. :(

Joyce, the Ranger at check-in, was very friendly and helpful. Jackie, a new volunteer at the Brinegar cabin, was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the cabin and it's history. My two-night stay was a bit rainy the first night and quite chilly the second, but Doughton is my favorite campground on the Parkway. Thanks!

We enjoyed our two-night stay at Doughton Park. The lady at the registration booth was kind and friendly. Our campsite was fine. No neighbors too close.

Only one request for improvement: update the bathroom facility. There was only one stall and one sink available on the ladies' side for the whole campsite loop B. Can't imagine who thought that would be sufficient!

Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. I would like to visit the Doughton Park cafe next time. We didn't get to do so this visit.

Bring your food with you to the campsite. It's a decent drive to the nearest grocery store.
