We love Doughton Park! The campground is convenient to hiking and picnicking. The Bluffs restaurant is just a short hike away. And being up on a mountain the summertime temperatures are much lower than on the piedmont.

Love this park the location right on the parkway but wish the grass was mowed more often and would like to see more upgrades to the campground, the new firepits and tables on the concrete pads on a few sites is really nice.

Very quiet and peaceful. Very happy the campground had a comfort station. Rested real well and even had a real campfire.

Stayed at White Oak CG for 2 nights in late September 2021. Gravel sites, fairly level, Water and electric hookup arrangement, although difficult to attach surge protector without a 30 amp dogbone due to electric box immediately below outlets. Bathhouse / showers very clean and cleaned every day. Friendly CG host. Great hiking from this location.

This place is wonderful, quiet and relaxing. We went on a holiday the park was pretty much full but was peaceful.

Nice quiet park along the Blue Ridge Parkway, milepost 239. The campsite had a concrete picnic table, fire ring with a grill top that is adjustable in height. The parking pad is blacktop and mostly level. No hook ups, but a nice place to overnight while touring the parkway.
A MUST stop is the Blue Ridge Music Center. Very well done! We really enjoyed learning about the history of Blue Ridge Mountain music.
