Beautiful little campground, probably the most quiet Ive ever experienced. All the other campers were very respectful, even those with kids and dogs. Access to the lakeshore is easiest at site #1, but we were at site #5 and found that the shore was a short walk downhill from there. Sites are spaced well apart, vault toilets super clean, and a friendly, attentive camp host made rounds every morning. The hiking trailhead for the many area trails is within walking distance down the NFS road.

Very small campground at the end of a dirt road. Right on West Tensleep Lake. Beautiful. Good hiking trails and close to the wilderness boundary. Deb, the campground host, is very nice and keeps a clean restroom and camp.

Beautiful, compact campground at the end of the gravel road. Only way to go from here is up a trail to some beautiful lakes (Helen, Marian, Mistymoon, Lost Twins). Outhouses are clean. The campsites vary in size - usually one or two tents apiece. Great access to the lake. One important note: If you would like firewood, you need to pick it up from the camp host at Island Park campground (or Deer Park campground?) on your way up to the campground.

Beautiful, small and quiet campground by a lovely lake. Easy access for several great day hikes into the Cloud Peak Wilderness. Sites are not large, but nicely shaded. Clean facilities.

Beautiful campsites (We stayed at site 007) but all sites are well laid out. Quiet campground with the cleanest restrooms Ive ever used on Forest Service areas. Camp Host was very friendly and informative. Would 100% recommend staying here.

Great campsite and facility overall! Was there the final few days of reserved season, so pretty quiet with very little activity in the campground. Only suggestion would be to identify that the host is not at the same location. In this case, the host was at a lower location several miles back down the mountain. You don't learn that until you arrive and go to the reader board. Otherwise was left alone and enjoyed our trip. Site was clean, and table and fire ring were in good condition.

We reserved site #9. The picture of site 9 was NOT site 9. Some updating is in order on the website. the site worked out fine for us in spite of the mix up on the campsite picture. The reservation system had at least 2 or 3 sites reserved, BUT VACANT, during our stay. We feel that if the campsite is not occupied the first night of the reservation, the reservation should become void and the site available on a first come, first serve basis.

Really enjoyed the walk-in site! Beautiful view of the lake and felt pretty private. Also the host is doing a great job with keeping the bathrooms clean!

I didn't get to stay there as I lost my sleeping bag somewhere on the washboard road. As far as the site went- Not level. Not good for a tent.

Great semi-remote site. Great setting with lake, trails and streams, Trout fishing was good. The day use people infringe on the campground a bit but that has been going on for years. The area camp host is both friendly and a great caretaker to the area. This without a doubt is a five-star campground in my book, Site #1 is a good site-slopes towards the lake a bit but I had a small camper.

It would have been helpful to know that if it was 7 mi up a dirt road. Other than that it was a beautiful site

Great campground and location to the lake and trailhead

Wonderful experience, last campground in the canyon, most sites are semi-private, balanmce of sun and shade. Near the lake. Hiling and trailheads into the Cloud Peak Wilderness just up the road. Will be back soon!

We have been RVing for the past 7 years. I have to honestly say this is the most beautiful campground we have camped at in our RV. There are only 10 spots, so it's not a crowded campground. It appeared most sites can take a large RV. Our RV is 28 feet and we able to get it into our spot (3) with little difficulty. If you have an oversized RV, try to get spot 4. It looked like it could take a Class A if necessary. Yes, the road to it off the main highway is a dirt road with a lot of washboard and pot holes. We didn't like that. It will take you about 15-20 minutes to get to the campsite if you go slow. The fishing at the lake was awesome. Caught several brook trout and one tiger trout from the shore using worms for bait. The nights are very chilly, especially in June. It even snowed about an inch on us and the temperature got down to 26 degrees one night! Also, be advised there is NO cell phone service at all. I also want to mention that the camp host Deb, was the best host we ever had met at a campsite!! I thought I would run out of fuel for our generator and she said if I needed some, she would get me fuel. How many camp hosts would do that? Although we didn't use the restrooms, I saw her every day going into them and cleaning. The best camp host ever! We would love to come back here one day again. It's peaceful and quiet. We did see one moose with her calf across the lake.

Dirt road to the CG was in better shape than years past. Water worked fine, bathrooms were clean and camp host was more than helpful in providing answers to any questions you had. Only glitch was the trail to East Tensleep Lake disappeared before you could get there. Suggest taking a good GPS device to this one, maps weren't much help (i.e. Nat'l Geographic). Others like to Mistymoon or Lost Twin Lakes wasn't a problem.

Beautiful little campground with the lake and hiking trails right there. Bathrooms were clean which was a pleasant surprise compared to other campgrounds. Friendly camp host.

We were in campsite #4 which sits above the lake. It's a lovely, large site, but sloping and rocky. We had to place our 11x9 tent close to the campground road as it was the only even spot on the site. Host came by each morning to collect trash at each site and kept the vault toilets very clean. However, not having a host staying on site (she was six miles away down a gravel road) was a disadvantage on our last night when campers next to us played loud rap music until very late. If you have a large tent, the inside loop campsites have the best flat areas, but are not very private. Great hiking and saw moose!

Busy over the weekend but still well kept. The proximity to the outhouse didn't bother us at all.

Great spot with only 10 sites. We enjoyed hiking and canoeing on the lake.

Mama moose & baby moose made a showing! Cheeky littke chipmunks gave us many laughs. The beauty is breathtaking! Coyotes howled across the lake in daylight. What a vacation!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
