Boulder Park has been our go-to campground since 2013. Most campsites are well shaded, it's kept up and maintained from the road to the outhouse's. It's close to the creek and plenty of woods around it to explore and hike. Neighbors are close, but not stacked on top of each other, the staggering and angle of the entrance layouts works well that you are not looking in another campers rig. The campground has an air of openness and solitude.

During our 10-day stay at Boulder Park Campground we suffered 3 days of cattle roaming through the "Park", near our camp site and spreading manure "bombs" and drawing flies--much to our chagrin!!!We don't know the reason for this intrusion, but it was very disappointing and soured our experience, enjoyment and serenity. Even after their invasion was reported, they were allowed to remain and were still there as our reservation ended on 30 July

Boulder Park is located near many recreational activities - mainly fishing. It is situated on a creek and a short drive to Meadowlark Lake and West Tensleep Lake (access to the Cloud Peak Wilderness). There is also 1st rate climbing very nearby. The campsite is well maintained and facilities are clean. Only reason for 4 stars is the speed that people drive on the campground loop. Not a single vehicle over 3 days respected the 10mph limit. This while the campground was full of families with kids riding bikes, walking on the road. I thought camping was supposed to be relaxing not a race.

We have always loved camping at Boulder Park in the Big Horn Mountains. Past years the campsites were immaculate upon arrival. This year there was a new camp host and she was there in July, but not on our Aug visit. The bathrooms were very clean both times, the campsites themselves were okay but not pristine like Linda kept them in past years. Our table and cookstove area were dirty and appeared to not have been wiped down. The firepit still had built-up ashes and burned wood in it. That aside, we do plan on returning as we love the area and "our" campsite. And honestly, the little clean-up and maintenance didn't hurt us. Both times our neighbors were quiet even though there were children of all ages and dogs. No yelling and screaming or barking.
