Love this cabin! I try to get to it once or twice a year. I really appreciate how well the FS and the community of renters keep it clean and cared for. I've learned that the cabin is so well insulated, that I have the best luck opening the cabin door to get the fire going in the stove

This is our third visit to Pole Creek Cabin. We enjoy the beautiful scenery and abundance of hiking possibilities. Part of the magic is not having cell service and that lends to more quality time with your people and animals. Please take plenty of water and stay hydrated and always plan for every type of weather.

This is a piece of heaven tucked away in the mountains! It offers just enoughluxury yet still is rustic with no running water or electricity. Its beautiful, peaceful, quiet. The wood burning stove on a chilly night is my favorite part. Its close to Crazy Woman Canyon and other really fun places to explore. The cabin has a very well made and the bunk beds are comfortable.

Amazing cabin. Clean. Well appointed. Everything youd want - except for the neighbors.The Forest Service allows camping literally almost right up to the door of the cabin - so youre subjected to music, generators, noise, 4-wheelers, and boozing.Skip this on weekends or anytime youre looking for solitude. Off season - its amazing!

Found the Pole Creek Cabin very comfortable. Wood supply was well stocked as was housewares in the kitchen. Our bonus was the appearance of the Aurora Borealis on Friday night. We will be back! Thank you.

Such a great place. Canned food, paper towels and fire starters left by last occupants even a little extra water. Mattresses for the beds required less stuff to bring /carry. Plenty of wood. We enjoyed the solitude and reading the scary stories written by previous guests. The 1/2 mile hike was a great adventure by starlight Basic cabin but pans and basics made it easier than expected.

Gorgeous location. Cabin exactly as described. We didn't realize other people could camp very near cabin, so we did have an RV neighbor near us but no issues, just not as remote as we were thinking it would be. Also some trails cut through the cabin property grounds, though we only saw a couple of people on horseback once so not tons of traffic. Excellent place for a base camp, beautiful trails very close by.

Quiet and peaceful. No cell reception which is great. The road back into the cabin is pretty rough. A truck is recommended. I would love to see a few more cabin put up in the Bighorns. Maybe a some in the northern half as well as a few more on the southern end. I'm certain they would be booked just like Pole Creek and Muddy Guard are.

So peaceful and secluded-we loved it! A little hard to find even with multiple direction preparations, but we made it. I would suggest setting a trip odometer from leaving Buffalo (or any other landmark) to make it easier not to miss the service road turn. Cabin was clean, plenty of firewood, and lots to see around the site. We plan to go back one day!

We couldnt access the cabin. The road had just been paved/construction that day when we arrived and we couldnt drive across it to get to the necessary road. A shame.

We had a great time at Pole Creek Cabin! Weather was great and all the snow had melted by the time we got there. We enjoyed playing games outside in the sun and setting up the hammock, lots of great trees for that. Wish I would have brought my slack line.

I would NOT recommend trying to find the cabin in the dark if it’s your first time. Apple/Google maps took us down the wrong road and we ended up at a different group of cabins - if this happens to you, head back to the highway turn left and then turn right at the next dirt road opening. We had to sleep in our truck because we knew we wouldn’t find it. The 200 yard walk wasn’t too bad but we definitely brought too much, I’d recommend bringing a wagon to haul your stuff up.

There is not a whole lot of items in the cabin for use. There are no cups, which is fine, paper plates and plastic silverware can be found. There is a stove but no propane for use. Some pots and pans. Lots of shade to keep you cool during the day. Great star gazing place.

We hiked up behind the cabin and found some good rocks to boulder in and sit and listen to the birds. Overall we had a great stay! Would go back again

Our winter trip was the perfect getaway! There is a new stove that doesn't make the cabin nice and warm without overheating you. We hav enjoyed every trip to Pole Creek and will be back again next winter!

Beautiful location, peaceful, trail to explore, great outdoor gathering area with firepit, picnic table, grill, etc. Be sure to bring an extra roll of TP for the outhouse -- it was about out.

This cabin is great. It's a nice size for a small group, and the surrounding area is beautiful. There were dispersed campers very close by, which meant noise (generator) and little feeling of solitude. But the meadow out front is amazing, as are the hills behind.

LOVED IT! We had such a great three days up at the cabin and hiking & snowshoeing around the trails! The road was still closed (end of March) and we pulled in our sled over mud for the first bit before getting to snow, but it was more than worth it. Highly recommend taking the road back rather than the trail when pulling a sled. As so many have said, the stove works great - sometimes too good and windows were opened! We will certainly be booking it again for a few days when we need to get out of service again!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
