Site was spacious and clean. Booked it last minute when somebody cancelled their reservation. Allowed more time to explore the west section of Big Bend specially the canyon and Rio Grande.

Amazing experience living for a few days in such a diverse and incredibly beautiful environment. The campground was quiet and peaceful. We met some very interesting people and will definitely return.

Lots of moving equipment and noise early in the morning. Takes away from the "camping" feel due to all the construction in and around the campground.

Lovely place. Quiet, calm, no generators.

Love Cottonwood Campground. It appears they have added some new sites to the campground. I hope they don't add too many, because I like it smaller - especially better than the Basin campground. It's too crowded there.

So nice.. like that it is small. Hope to go back soon!

Great, quiet site. I have stayed here on three separate trips to Big Bend and really enjoy how isolated it is.

We loved Ed, very friendly and helpful park ranger who gave us spots to look at stars and watch the sunset.

Great launching off point for Santa Elena trail. Amazing views from Chisos Basin. Potable water for water bottles.

We love this campground! The restrooms, while only vault toilets, were always clean. The campground was only 1/2 full due to COVID, so it was very quiet and awesome.

I never got there, when I booked the reservation I had no clue where Cottonwood was or how difficult it was to get there. Only when I arrived at Big Bend did I discover that navigating was not for my RV. I tried talking to a person, that failed. Eventually I changed it to Rio grande Village, the trees were so low I couldn’t fit my 24’ rig into the space well and neither could my neighbor who was bigger than I was.

The campground is small with not a lot of amenities but it's quiet and clean. The Camp Host was very nice and accommodating. The area is perfect for bird lovers...so many different kinds. Javalinas graze in the morning in the fields around the campsites. Highlight is the Santa Elena Canyon hike....just lovely.
