Amazing views from Emory peak and the south rim trail. Campgrounds were nice, just wish they had showers.

I wish we would have known ahead of time how popular a campground Cottonwood is. We were only able to stay one night because of no sites available for the rest of our time in the park. It felt like a little community there, everyone was very welcoming and friendly! Very positive experience.

Great location close to Santa Elena canyon, drop toilets were very clean. Friendly and helpful camp host. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because several of our neighbors were loud late into the night.

good spot if you want to explore this part of the park but campgrounds a bit sparse.

We loved the grass where we set up our tent, and the trees that shaded our site. The ranger that came through the campground to check on new arrivals was very helpful. It also worked out well for us to be close to St. Elena Canyon, because we went there early in the morning to hike the trail, and still had time to get back and pack up before the check-out time. The pit johns were clean.

Really a great place. Tucked away at the bottom of the park. Many birds, good bike rides and hikes. The volunteers do a great job of keeping you informed.

This my 4th review for this trip! I love Big Bend. This is my fourth review for a 10 day stay because this is the 4th campsite. Why? Because I couldn't get consecutive days at one site even though I made reservations almost two months in advance even though campsites that were "officially" reserved were unoccupied. The government knows the problem!!! Will it fix it??? Probably not. It's getting its revenue for "full" campgrounds while campers are turned away, leaving half-full campgrounds!!!

Gorgeous, spotless campground! The rangers roving every couple of hours were very friendly, greeting new guests as they arrived (and letting us know exactly where to look for the resident great horned owls!) The toilets were the cleanest I've ever experienced at any campground. We visited the other two campgrounds at Big Bend, and Cottonwood was hands down the best.

Restrooms were spotless! Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. And we saw them cleaning campsites immediately after campers left.

Post speed limit sign with an explanation about courtesy and dust...most violators do not stay in the campground. Also, should allow some use of generators to prepare meals. Bathrooms were clean and host was helpful.

This campground is an oasis in the desert. There is a lot of shade, clean drinking water, clean restrooms, and water spigots nearby. There is a fence surrounding the campground for safety from animals. And it is just down the road from Santa Elena Canyon. The park host came by a few times each day to make sure everything was good and had helpful information about the park.

There is no use of generators allowed at the campground and electric plug-ins are not provided. I think based on the climate where the campground is located one or the other or both of these should be available. There's no

A nice, quiet little campground that makes its easily to access the west side of the park with a great view of the Mexican cliffside.

Quiet little campground with lots of space between people around us. It was full, but I still felt like I had plenty of safe space to move around. The wind through the trees was a very relaxing sound, too!

We managed to book 2 nights @ Cottonwood in early January (holiday week) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The campground is small and very quaint with large trees and a great view of the canyon walls. The site was spotlessly clean, very quiet, and well managed by the host staff (very helpful). We wish we could have booked a longer stay but no sites were available. Highly recommend this campground.

The spaces at Cottonwood are a little more cramped than at Rio Grande village for instance and at first I was nervous at the proximity. but the folks around me were quiet and the partial closure helped also with the sense of privacy. I slept well there and the proximity to great hikes makes the place amazing.
