Really impressed by all the amenities at this cabin! My fiance and I accidentally left behind a cast iron Dutch oven in the refrigerator with leftover meatloaf in it :(If anyone who is staying in this cabin lives in the Bozeman area, it would mean the world to me if you could bring it back this way! Even if you could bring it to the gate so we could swing through and pick it up without intruding on someones stay, that would be amazing. My fiancs phone number is (406) 579-2864.

This a luxury hotel of a FS cabin! 2 bedroom , LR with couch and chairs, and working kitchen with refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker and pop up toaster. And Heat. There is even (or unfortunately) still good reception with Verizon. The place looks like it had a recent coat of paint and the indoor toilet and shower are clean! The mattresses are still FS level so bring a pad and your own bedding. Bring your own cleaning supplies, mugs and pots and pans. It is well stoked with knives and silverware and cutting boards. We had a lovely stay. Low snow year so we were still able to drive up to the cabin ad explore the area on foot. We saw no sign of anyone for 3 days. Would be great if folks really cleaned up after their dogs around the cabin. Directions are unclear. Take the left fork in the road to go down to closed private property gate then just beyond that is the cabin. Looks like you might be heading out to big mansion on the hill but that is the rd to the cabin. Unfortunately there is no sign there to take the left fork rather than going up the hill to the right which is the more used path. Easy to miss.

Since there was only a dusting of snow on the ground, we were able to drive up to the cabin. In years past we had to walk the 1mile from the parking area due to drifting snow. We loved the upgraded bathroom and it looked like the inside got a fresh coat of paint. Its nice to have cell service.

The cabin was a nice little winter getaway for my small family. With a toddler under 2 and another baby in the way, it was nice to have hot running water, electricity, and forced air heat. Usually we don’t need the amenities when we rent forest service cabins, but with kiddos it sure made things easier.
We went in February when the road was a bit drifted over so we ended up walking in with sleds the .6 miles from the main road. It wasn’t a bad walk, but the road wasn’t exactly perfectly smooth walking either.
The cabin itself was warm and cozy and the furniture was was comfortable for a forest service cabin. Plenty of refrigerator space with two functioning fridges, decent cooking gear, and a warm shower was a huge bonus after having to walk in and out through the snow.
One negative was the sound of the forced air heat. It did fine keeping the place warm for us the first night, but we should have just stuck with the fire. In the cold temps, the furnace kicked on every 10 minutes with a loud boom that woke us from our sleep or prevented us from getting to sleep. The second night we just kept the fire stoked and we’re very comfortable with a peaceful quiet we typically get in any other forest service cabin. Probably not a concern most of the year and not really anything the forest service can do, but just be aware.
The other slight negative was the lack of decor and the lack of information about the area or any books in general. I don’t expect the forest service to provide this entertainment, but most other cabins have had much more information available. This was more noticeable to me since I forgot to pack a book this time around.
The scenery was beautiful and we would love to come back and explore the area more when there’s less deep snow.

Another nice peaceful night at Fleecer. A few inches of snow, but the road was good. Didn't need to use 4WD to get in. Saw some fox tracks near the cabin.

Pretty posh cabin with water and lights and heat. Enjoyed the wood stove for ambiance and warmth and liked the nice sitting area for evening games and visiting. Easy access to a road that leads up towards Fleecer Ridge which can be nice walking/skiing. A mile and a half away is parking for a section of the CDT. We drove in on Dec. 21, but if there is more snow, the road is closed at the gate and you'd have to walk/ski in roughly 1/2 mile. Nice spot.

Had a great time at Fleecer Station! Comfortable well-equipped cabin, the furnace worked great, no complaints at all. The road in was a bit of a challenge, but they warn about that on the site for this time of year. It was challenging and slow going the last half mile, even with 4WD and new off-road tires, but we made it and had a great time. Have already booked another stay.

Road was drifted over about a mile and a half from the cabin, but it was an easy ski. However, we did take the wrong fork in the road initially. Make sure to take the one farthest to the left with the gate. The gate made it seem like someone’s driveway so we took the middle fork in the road and about two miles up could see the cabin below. :) Lots of snow for skiing around, kitchen was well equipped, and mattresses were new. There’s even a couch and couple comfy chairs. Wood stove burns fast and firewood is buried under snow- but there is a heater too! Cabin butts right up against private land.

Cabin was awesome. The only problem was the bunk beds were not in good condition on arrival. The rungs were broken out of some of them. Know this the next time (and there I will be a next time) we will bring an air mattress!

A solid spot. We spent one night as a stop-over on our way north. Kitchen is well stocked with many pots and pans. Suggest washing them before using as some had dirt and signs of mice. Cabin is behind a locked access so very quiet; no passing cars. Yet the road access is good - no overly rough patches or steep hills. We weren't there long enough to explore the area.

Very clean, kitchen was well stocked, the wood burning stove and floor heater helped keep us warm. We had a wonderful time.
