Now that there is a new camp host, this camping trip was so much better than earlier trips this summer. The reservation signs were up to date, the bathrooms were spectacularly clean, and the water was running just fine in the sinks and the spout to fill up water jugs. Having a reliable source of water and place to use the bathroom just makes all the difference during a multi-day camp trip. All the docks were pulled in properly close to the shore as well. THANK YOU to the new camp-host, we never saw them in person but their presence was definitely noticed!

Beautiful site and campground. Great set up, nice sites, awesome docks. Pretty privileged to have access to stuffLike this.

Second time this summer without a camp host. Bathrooms have not been cleaned. Toilets stopped working after the first day. Horrible experience

We had Campsite 3 it was a great location. We canoed in with 3 small children, my wife and I. It was a doable paddle that took 1hour 20 mins, taking our time. Lots of boats on a Saturday afternoon when we journeyed in so be prepared for wakes.

If you’re planning to stay on in the campground and not go back for supplies make sure you bring extra water. There is one last spigot of potable water at the bathroom building. The restrooms are out of order with no running water as the spring that feeds the well is drying up. There are 2 outhouses for campers to use.

There was no campground host there and from what we were told it sounds like he hadn’t been there for a while. Without knowledge of what sites are reserved and which ones are open a campground host is rather essential in my opinion.

There has got to be a better way for recreation.gov to manage these campgrounds. I would say at least half of the 18 sites were not used while we were there yet when I went to book a spot there was only 1 site left. I’m sure potential campers are paying for their sites way in advance then something happens or plans change so they just don’t show up and it sits empty. Perhaps keeping at least half First come first serve? Any method without proper management and up to date reservation notices is going to struggle.

We had a great time, good neighbors, chill atmosphere, beautiful setting morning, noon and night! Water has great clarity, level is a little low and average water temp was around 75 *F perfect for cooling off.

No showers or running water toilets but each site has a dock to share with another campsite, that was definitely handy.

We had a great family trip, one of the best and the hideout campground didn’t disappoint.
