Beautiful place! Group site 2 has great access to the water, and has a nice, flat parking lot. The camp host is so kind and helpful (he even lent us his ladder when our trailers awning broke from the wind). Be aware: there is very little shade. There is a nice sturdy pavilion over the picnic tables that can hold hammocks, but very few trees, and it gets HOT. We also saw a rattlesnake on our last day, so be aware of that as well. The sites are not very secluded, but we were a small enough group and all the groups were respectful of each others space so it was fine. Bathrooms were clean, sites were well taken care of.

Bathroom was in terrible shape the whole stay. Noisy neighbors.

Great group site. Great Bowery and tent sites. Great access to the beach. Pretty good cell phone reception with T-Mobile.

Not great for multiple RVs. On the water. Rocky and no dock so have to pull boat out every night.

Let me just say this - Recreation.gov is a terrible third party website/company to deal with. They have expensive reservation and cancellation fees. One also has to wait all day on the phone (more than 45 minutes) trying to speak with another human being while listening to obnoxious elevator music and pre-recordings, just to be disconnected when their hours of operation end. Reimbursements also take unreasonable amounts of time to occur.

In terms of the actual campsite, well most of the them are compact and close together -they’re also far from the water’s edge which means you need to drive down if you have your arms full. The group sites are better but fairly expensive. Camp rules dictate dogs must be on a leash. Selfish people don’t care about rules though and they act all surprised when their ankle-biting family member attacks you and your children.

I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
