Campsites are spread out and spacious. Some have very few trees for extra privacy, but it was still nice. Quiet campground, really enjoyed it. Nice walking trail to visitor’s center

It's a pretty nice campground. You can walk to the nearby resort for great meals. We reserved a site ahead of time, and it was a very nice site, but unfortunately the camp host who was supposed post your site as reserved had quit his job a few days earlier. Therefore it was kind of a free for all in the campground. Our site had been stolen by someone, but we worked it out with them. I think the USFS should have stepped in since the concessionaire quit their post. The USFS is ultimately responsible for administration of the contract with the concessionaire. But based on the number of dead trees in our National Forest, it is apparent that the USFS does not manage anything anymore.

The lake itself is full of leeches, apparently, so don’t hop in for a swim. The lodge is nearby and we did eat a meal there which was basically cafeteria food, but I didn’t have to do the dishes so it felt pretty nice after 10 days camping. There were some good trees for setting up the hammock, but some sites were pretty out in the open and got a lot of sun. Overall, a good experience. Clean bathrooms, well-kept site with good distance between neighbors.
