We had a delightful stay at the campground in October staying in C-7. It was unseasonably hot for that time of year but we enjoyed the nice breezes coming off the Lake. This was a great base of operations for us for our four day stay. The park was clean and well- tended. Well be back

We stayed for a week in early October as a family group in sites C6, C7 & C8, electric only, C7 no problem for our 30' camper. (Potable water, dump station & dumpsters available near main gate. Phyllis at the gate is awesome!) Concrete pads are HUGE, with picnic table & the 3 sites are nicely grouped together on the point, but far enough apart for privacy.Challenges: trying to walk on the rocks & the (spiky) gumballs from the sweet gum trees that were everywhere. We still loved being super close to the lake, and with aqua socks or crocs, we were able to walk along the shore and put in our paddleboard & tomcat boat, too. The firepit was a little challenging as it was very deep and the log grate was well below the cooking grate, making cooking over the fire rather difficult until we had enough ash built up. (Took almost all week!)Two swimming beaches, the closest was concrete & rocks and the other had more sand with some rocks. The boat launches at this location are crazy steep & there's one with multiple lanes for fishing tournaments, at which time it gets very busy. The lake is unbelievably gargantuan & we were only on the upper, smaller half of the lake. If you want to rent a boat, it becomes quite challenging after Labor Day. (Peter's Sugarloaf Marina was awesome--had a double decker pontoon with a slide that allowed fishing. And they let us take our pups, too, which is not ordinarily allowed. It was late in the season and they were getting ready to shut down for the year.)The bathroom facilities are in good, clean condition and we liked the A-loop best for the family showers & adjustable water temperature. And it gets nice & hot. The playground next to the A-loop bathrooms looks fun for kids--it's a pirate ship and if I were 5, would be all over it.The EAGLES--oh my gosh, were they fantastic to watch for the entire week!! Lots of fish in this lake and they know exactly where to find them--and then it's a family discussion about who gets the fish! LOL.
