The only thing they could improve is to fix the tent pads. Our children and grandchildren would come more if the pads were not so bad. I have contacted Bruce Westerman our Congressman to see what can be done. We glamp now but when we were younger tents were all we could afford. I think more young people could camp if the pads were redone. Really a cheap fix!!!!! I plan to work with Bruce to try to get this accomplished.

We love Shouse Ford & Lake DeGray, but this trip left a lot to desire. Check in day was postponed due to a major accident that blocked access to the park. We called and notified the park. All is okay. The next day was delayed by severe storms in the area. We arrived about 4 PM. Backed in, leveled up, unhooked the fifth wheel camper from the truck, plugged in the power cord and one leg of the 50 amp service malfunctioned so no power. No other usable sites were available so we had to reconnect, undo the leveling, put all the blocks away and drive back home on a promise that it would be fixed by Monday and they would call us. No contact came on Monday. Called Tuesday and finally got someone to check. They did call back and said it was fixed. So back down we go for another set up. This time everything worked. They did refund us for the five days we could not use the park but nothing for the fuel on two trucks that pull the camper and boat. $77.00 of diesel and about $50.00 of gas out of my pocket for the wasted round trip due to an electrical problem where they had no one available or on call for repair service. The camp site was great, right on the water and next to the swim area, but the COE could do a better job of maintenance.

Loved the camp site at Shouse Ford. The cleaning of the showers leave a little to be desired. Site 23 has an old electric panel that has a couple issues. Loose plug and door. But The camp is great the water is wonderful. Great place to camp.

It was very disappointing. We have been going to the park since the late 70's. It has many great memories. But will not be back. Grass not mowed, sites are horrible (nothing has been done to improve them). It is a shame that no money can be spent on this park. It used to always be full but now not even on weekend. It has so many water site that you just keep losing money on this Campground. Your loss!
