We love Hickory Creek Park and have stayed there many times. This time though, when we arrived at 5pm, someone was still in our spot! We had somewhere that we had to be so couldnt wait for them to get back. The camp host was wonderful and let us drop our camper near the gate while they tried to find the negligent person. The camp host finally contacted the person and had them move, but we had to set up camp at 10pm in the dark! Please, be respectful of others; read the rules and obey them!!!!Kudos to the camp hosts!! They were super sweet and tried diligently to make right!

Well, I don't know where to start. First it rained the whole time, but not blaming the campground for that of course. Whether the rain had anything to do with the rest of it is yet to be known. The vault bathrooms were not cleaned as they have been in the past, the safety screen on the door looked like it had been pried open and there was no one at the booth when we checked during the hours listed we couldn't ask about that either. Don't like the fact that you can no longer get a hang tag for your vehicle, however since there was not anyone who checked that I suppose It's not that important. What about the Tags for the site posts? Now you have to scan a QR code to find out if your spot is available an extra day? Can't even ask the booth attendant. Hate that!! The campground seemed unattended. Perhaps I am just nit-picking but, I remember a much more pleasant experience than I had this visit, and we have camped in the rain at Hickory Creek many times. We have a small camper but no bathroom in it, that's why we like the Pine Loop, the toilet is close by. We had to leave a day early this time around, a member of our party became ill. We are local folk and we are going back on 5/13/2024. Hopefully it will be better, we will see.

Park is quiet this time if year and very relaxing. Camp Host Katie is attentive to the park and very helpful.

Very nice campground with a lake view from every site. Some are right on the water front. Has nice boat launch with dock and plenty of trailer parking.

Very nice camping sites in the pine trees. Lots of shade for summer camping. Well spaced out. Easy to park boat near campsite.
