Nice campground, but sites felt packed in. Sites were overflowing with RVs, pickup trucks, boats and cars. People tried to fit too much into the campsites.

We love staying at Hickory Creek Park. It’s a super nice camp and all the RV spots are great but we love the Pines. We love just hanging out in the shaded pine trees and people watch!! Lol! We also love the easy access to the lake to put your boat in!! We look forward to going back the Monday after Fathers Day!!!!

WE made a reservation through the official channels (recreation.gov) and the person who made the reservation for space 37 apparently did not know that it is virtually impossible to get a trailer our size into that spot and that the spot is not level. The person who checked us in informed us that this was the case and gave us a better spot for one night and told us to check in the next day to see if something opened up for the second night. Despite the fact that the guy was very nice and working with us, we elected to cut the stay to one night. He could have just checked us in and told us to work it out with space # 37 and, after looking at # 37, we sincerely appreciate that he had our best interest at heart by finding us another spot. I could not have gotten our trailer in # 37, or might have incurred damage trying to do so. The person who checked us in said they had tried to get recreation.gov to understand that the site should just be for pop-ups of tents, but the communication is not having an effect. The camp ground is very nice and we would go back, with some knowledge about site selection.
