Gamaliel Campground in Baxter County is located 2 hrs 20 min southeast of Springfield, MO with an elevation of 612 feet. There are a total of 64 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of April to the end of October. 63 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 25 and 42 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 58 sites have electric and water hookups. 6 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $50.00. Some amenities include shower, playground, swimming, marina. Activities include boating, fishing, floating sports.

The camp attendant was very nice and helpful. The bathrooms could have been cleaner. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Site 59 was shaded and a slight view of the lake. There was ample room for our 18' camper. There was no covered picnic table, but we brought our own canopy. The campground was clean and bathrooms were always tidy. We really enjoyed our time at Gamaliel.

Loved my first time Glamping trip to Gamielel in my Vintage Cruiser. I picked RV spot 22 which unbeknownst has a cement retaining wall and made backing in a bit of a struggle. I took 4 of my grandkids and we had a blast! Chose to be close to the playground which was perfect. Clean campsites & well kept up. Loved my 4 days there. Will go again soon.

Pretty sunset overlooking the marina. Site 9 is hard to backup into. Would only recommend for tent, car or van camping.

We stayed at campsite 63 in a tent. It was nice and level, decent shade and close to the showers and restrooms. We would stay there again.

The campground spot, the bathroom, and especially the staff were absolutely great! I do wish the shower had a little better drainage, but it was definitely tolerable. Any real shortcomings I experienced, were with other people, not the park

It would be nice if the grass was cut before the holiday weekends. need to replace some of the fire pits as they are rusted out.

We have been going to here for about 17 years. I love the clear camping and playground areas. The new sand on the beach was a welcome surprise. The restrooms are clean and if there are any issues, they are delt with in a timely manner. We are concerned with the new volunteer program for the check in area. They are having a lot of difficulty finding volunteers to work the office and it is putting a lot of strain on the one contracted employee that we have left. She is so wonderful and worried about her campers getting the experience that we have been used to. This past weekend, with the storms, we lost power and she drove around to check on people and to help find the problem and we were not without power for very long. I can remember when Gamaliel campgrounds was party central and we really did not want to be a part of that with our children. There were a lot of changes made and for the past 17 years, it has just gotten better and better and our Grandchildren love it. We are praying that this new change will not allow history to repeat itself and it become party central again.
