I personally had no idea what to expect when I booked for two weeks coming from Michigan. I was very worried as I noticed instantly I reserved what was clearly one of six spots for larger RV’s. I was in my car snd had a two man tent. I found a small flat area just over the guard chain of the parking lot and setup camp.
The crowd was exactly what you’d expect in a site like this. Escapees, older folks waiting on their “real” spot to open for a few days, hipsters, and some very heavy drinkers. That would be my one snd only complaint was the drunk two sites down who was also in a tent but a tent he clearly lived full time in. Listening to his cans crack all night, him pee and Mins like a sailor at 3am every night kinda sucked but $5.
Wild life is more then prevalent. I had two nights where the wild Burris decided to use my tent as scratching post in middle of the night. Pretty jarring but friendly creatures nonetheless. Owls, coyotes, and creepy crawls of every kid to keep all ages busy with the river just down the way.
Shoot for site 19 if a tent camper or small small RV. Right on water and would have a lot of boat noise but I feel the best site of them all.
