This would be a great family campground however after having been there over Easter weekend we found out that there is no camp host. People are squatting on various sites. One morning we woke up to a few fellow campers arguing over campsites. The group we camped with paid for 3 sites, however, we only used 2. The remaining site was occupied by somebody else the entire weekend. If you do decide to book these sites be sure to bring proof as you may encounter someone on your site.

Our time here was great. Several of the sites are large enough for very big rigs. We watched Quail, Road Runners, and at times burros in the park. Do be careful pulling off the highway to the entrance. If there is a vehicle coming out you may have to wait as the area is to narrow for two vehicles to comfortably pass.

Excellent campground except that it is close to the road and had tractor trailer road traffic noise all day and night. RV hookups are modern, bathrooms are standard state facilities. Sites are paved, relatively flat and spacious. Near by Buckskin is much further off the road and has more trail access.

When I stayed I did see one issue that was very disappointing. Their dump station sat empty except for 11am-1pm during checkout and checkin and yet it was “closed to public” with a $15 fee public fee posted. This is a State Public campground and should support state tourism and public health. With thousands boondocking on near by BLM it’s very disappointing that they are making thing more difficult than necessary.
