Great spot on Lake Granby! We had a group of 9 families and enjoyed being just a couple hundred yards from the lake. Access was a bit steep, but we were able to get our kayak and paddle boards down there for hours of fun the water. Tent pads were a decent size and it was so nice to have the pavilion there, since the campground doesnt have shade otherwise. Easy access to hiking in RMNP and we went into Grand Lake for a bit one afternoon.

I would love to put 5 stars because overall our week here was great with the memories made with our family. We come every year and have for the last 27+ years. The campground to us has just been run down with not much upkeep especially with the price being paid to stay there. Both the trash and restrooms were full and not emptied or kept up prior. I understand we are outdoors and its an outhouse but several spiders in there including black widows was a little frightening. With the trash being full we had to be aware of how much we could throw away. The pavilions are starting to show age with missing wood pieces on pillars and the tables are chipping. There used to be well defined horseshoe and volleyball pits and now they are not cleaned up and maintained. I would suggest tent sites, pavilions, volleyball pits, horseshoe pits, and fire pits to be kept up in order for all parts to be enjoyed.

Access to the lake for SUP, canoes, kayaks etc was excellent because the water in Lake Granby was very high. Check lake levels before you come to better plan you trip.
