The information on recreation.gov falls pretty sort of describing these campsites. Parking is parallel parking and there is enough room, but this should be clearly stated as bigger RVs and travel trailers need to adjust how they park. The parking sites on the inner ring aren't very well defined, and we had to move lots of rocks that ring the sites so we wouldn't stumble over them going in and out of our trailer, and when we traveled back and forth to the local lakes for fishing and kayaking.

Recreation.gov should also CLEARLY state that you have to pay to dump your trash, which is not typical of most campsites in Arizona. There is also RV dump station a few miles east near Woods Canyon, but it costs $7 to dump. This really isn't a huge deal, and there were attendants to make the process go smoothly with two separate pull-through sites to dump, but most people would agree that

The nearest forest road had traffic on it literally 18 hours a day, and we had one or two dozen vehicles per hour on Friday and Saturday driving through our loop of the campground looking for spots to camp. The camp host did not put out signs that say "campground full" which is common practice for national forest campgrounds, and this could have at least cut the traffic in the campground a little bit. The traffic on Rim Road is fast, anywhere from 10-20 mph above the posted limit of 25 MPH. Don't expect a quiet campground until after about 9PM.

Overall, this campground is a GREAT location with a paved rim trail that starts right in the campground with amazing views, and close proximity to both Woods Canyon and Willow Springs Lakes really is great, but this is probably why there are THOUSANDS of people camping, boating, hiking, ATV riding, etc. along this corridor between Payson and Heber. Not a horrible campground, but you just need to know what you are getting when you make a reservation in this campground or any in the immediate area.

Very clean facilities and campsites. Friendly and helpful hosts. Be sure to check out the hiking trails to look over the rim.
