The location (near Woods Canyon Lake) is excellent. You can easily walk or bike the long trails to the lake or along the rim. This campground sits right next tot the rim trail to experience wonderful views. The forest service just re-paved all the roads into this area making access MUCH better!! The hosts were great. Bathrooms are clean (keep in mind these are mass flow outhouses). Our site was clean and ready upon arrival. Overall, this is the best "bang-for-your-buck" campsite near the lake. Spillway Campground costs 5 times as much per night (but is it right next to the lake). This is our second year in a row staying at Mogollon (same campsite). It's worth your money and time, even if it is set apart from the other campgrounds.

We had a great two-day camping trip with five of us staying at Site 14, which was conveniently located near the restroom. The campsite host, Beth, was super nice and funny, and we appreciated her cleaning the restrooms at 6:30 a.m. sharp. We arrived on a Saturday when the campsite was full, and unfortunately, one camper had a generator running for about 30 minutes late at night, which was a bit annoying. However, by Sunday evening, we had the entire reserve side to ourselves, which was fantastic. The walk to the rim wasn't too difficult, and there are a couple of nice trails to explore. We all had Verizon and got one bar at the campsite and 2-3 bars closer to the rim. The short drive to Woods Canyon Lake was easy, and the $10 cash fee for the picnic area was reasonable for grilling and fishing. The on-site store was a lifesaver for any last-minute supplies. The only downside was the bees. There seemed to be a nest nearby, and while we didnt get stung, their swarming was quite annoying. The slight draft from the nearby restroom wasnt too bad, and we managed just fine.Overall, it was a great experience, and wed definitely camp here again, though Id probably choose a different site than 14 next time.

Great site for trailers...However, please note that the parking at this site is parallel only; perfect for those who have trouble backing up trailers. We opened our canopy toward the fire pit and table area. Site 14 gets a huge draft from the nearby outhouse though.

This campground was wonderful and definitely smaller, but close enough to enjoy all the Woods Canyon Lake amenities. We also loved having access to the walking path to overlook the Rim.

The campsite was clean and I had no problem with my stay. The host was nice. The only "problem" was the toilet situation. Good thing I brought Ozium to spray because it was stinky (as to be expected).

In directions, tell campers to turn in at the Woods Canyon Lake road.
