Quiet camp sites. Close to lake.

My family really enjoyed this campground. Our campground host David was amazing. We've been to a lot of campgrounds and David is by far the best. He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and made sure we were comfortable. Definitely going back and hopefully David will be the host. It was real nice being able to walk right down to Jackson lake in just a few minutes. If you're looking for a small campground with spacious camp sites and a great host, this is the place.

The campsite is totally slanted. It was horrible winds and then a day into our stay the fire restrictions made it so we couldn't have any fire at all not even a propane stove. We ended up leaving after 1 night when our reservation was for 4 nights 5 days.

We came here during 4th of July weekend. I was surprised how small this campground was (we counted about 10 or less campsites?) It was quiet and peaceful during this weekend. Up the road (en route to Wrightwood), you can find hikes, which we did, and there is a small grocery store in Wrightwood that had a good beer selection :). Our campground was on a tiny slope, so we kept sliding, however, it is pretty spacious and lots of beautiful trees surrounding you. We definitely will be back.

Very poor communication. There were fires in southern California during the time, and campfires we're limited in some areas. The reservation department was supposed to send out emails letting visitors know if there were campfire restrictions. They did not. While there, I had a simple duraflame log going as the weather was cold. One of the campground "attendants" came by and without warning or explanation doused out my duraflame fire. Only after doing so did he tell me about the campfire restrictions in effect, saying that I should have gotten an email from reservations about it. Again, I did not. He then proceeded to basically kick me out of the campground citing how cold the temperature would get and I couldn't light a fire. This was an awful experience, especially seeing as how they took my money and didn't return it.

Love this campground.. large enough that you dont feel like you invading other people's campsites but small enough that no matter which side of the campground you are at it's only a small walk to the lake.
