I stayed for one night at the end of a long cross country trip. It was a quiet weekday. Taking a walk through the woods from the camper loop to the shower block was idylic. The composting toilets in the RV loop were the sweetest smelling I have experienced.It's a bit of a trek off the highway. I am thinking of going back when I have more time to enjoy the area.

The Upper Loop of this campground was great. We stayed at site 11 which is on a spur off the main loop that has 3 sites (10 - 12). The first couple nights we had the entire upper loop to ourselves and it was very quiet. The Bathhouse was clean. There is only 1 shower in each bathroom (men, women and community). There are no garbage cans in the upper loop so we took our garbage to the dumpster each evening when we went to shower. There are 2 vault toilet units each containing 2 toilets. They were clean and did not smell too bad. There are two very chlorinated water sources next to each vault toilet. One had incredible water pressure making it hard to fill containers without getting wet; the other was slower. We did not have any interactions with the campground host, not sure if they drive around the campground during the day as we were gone until midafternoon each day. The campground has ice and firewood. We were able to find our own firewood within the campground and went to the nearest town for ice so I don't know any costs for ice or firewood. The swimming area is deep and has a very muddy bottom that you easily sink into. It should be dredged out. We stayed during the week leading up to the 4th of July. Due our schedule we had to check out on July 4th but were required to pay through the 6th given it was a holiday weekend. A little frustrated about that, but the cost is low enough compared to other campgrounds I was willing to bite the cost. The campground is near Cooks Forest but doesn't have the routine crowd. My complaints would be dogs that bark at everything throughout the night and people talking loudly until 2 AM. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this campground's upper loop to anyone. The lower loop, located across the main access road has sites that are closer together and less shade.

Stayed in the Upper Loop of the campground, which is forested and was private and quiet despite the loop being full. The swimming area was a nice place to relax during the day and was a shorter walk from the site than I was anticipating. Only complaint was that the bathhouse with showers only had one shower per gender for both loops, we were there on a weekend and there was a constant long line...even turning one of the changing rooms into a shower would make a huge difference. Otherwise great and we plan to camp here again. Note that site 13 has a bit of a natural seep into it after several sustained days of rain, so the area around the fire pit/picnic table area kept filling with water despite it not raining at all during our stay, it remained sloppy despite other sites having dried out. Fire pit itself and the obvious tent pad remained dry though.

nice location, quiet campsite, the only downside is that it was a bit muddy around the picnic table due to the terrain

The camp ground was nice and easy to walk or drive around. The drop toilets by the site we were in were okay but preferred to walk over to the showers/toilets by the other loop. Absolutely no cell service at the campground. Made it hard to map to the trails we wanted to hike. We enjoyed a hike at Buzzard swamp called the Songbird Sojourn trail. We found a small playground in the little town near Loelta that my daughter enjoyed running around at. It was a nice trip and would camp there again.

Unfortunately, even though we had reservations for 3 nights from April 1-4, the campground was locked and we couldn't camp here. I assume there was poor communication be Recreation.gov that said the campsite was available and either the USFS or the camp management company. That being said, the roads within the campground looked newly resurfaced and it was in a great location. We are willing to try again at another time yet right now we are still waiting for a refund from an unfulfilled camp opportunity.

Stayed at campsite 4 in the upper loop. Site was down from the road so it was private, but was right next to the bathroom. There was no smell. Staff kept facility clean and stocked. Only issue was the fire pit does not have enough oxygen holes to allow for proper burning. Would stay at site again.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
