Great place to get away for peace and quiet time. Views of Spanish moss hanging down from the trees. And a water view with colors of pinks in the horizon reflecting on the water at sunset. The stars are visible because there are no lights to interfere. The only problem with this park is the road going down to the park is very rough. It is a dirt road for a short distance. But the paved road area is buckled up and would damage your vehicle in spots. We were scared we would meet another vehicle while we were avoiding bad areas in the road. It was worth driving 30 minutes to get diesel for the solitude.

We had to weedeat around all the campsites our group was in. Needs more upkeep and a parkhost at the entrance to insure safety for the campers and visitors.

This campground is on a beautiful river reservoir, (lots of fish jumping) very serene and peaceful at the time of our visit. There is 2 miles of dirt road before you get to the campground but goes back to regular pavement at the place. Site 12 is very level and has a wonderful view of the water. Some of the sites will have a dock for boats, most of the sites do not have a way to get to the water. There is not a beach area. Bathrooms are very clean. Lots of birds singing, and the occasional racoons at night, so do not leave your stuff out...The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Bring all you need if camping more than a day. No stores close to camp. Will definitely go back to this campground.

The road leading into the park is very bad. It is the ONLY bad point of our trip. We had to leave a day early because we were afraid we could not get our RVs out because of the dirt road.
Once you get into the camp ground, it is excellent!!! The grounds are very well kept. The gate attendance is warm and welcoming. The view from the camp ground is beautiful.
This is one of my favorite campsites in dry weather.

We really enjoyed our stay at this quite secluded campground. Plenty of shade and the park attendants were nice. There are a few docks that you can fish off of and the park was clean. Nice little playground for the kids too. The bath house was a little outdated, but it was clean. You have to drive about a mile down a dirt road to get to this campground and it is in the middle of nowhere. So be prepared to take everything you will be needing. The closest town is roughly 30-45 min away. You may want to be careful with pets too because we saw a 3 gators during our stay. They were small, but im sure there are larger ones around.

What a wonderful hidden gem!! This was our last stop on a month long trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan. It was also our first Army COE experience. Beautiful park and facilities!! We were on the reservoir and the site was perfect!! Concrete pad and wonderful shade! Don’t let the remote drive to park worry you…although it was a concern as we arrived ~ we would absolutely stay here again!!!

This is a beautiful getaway for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of God's creation. The only "entertainment" is fishing so keep that in mind.
