This is the place to be in July and August months during the summer.Schoodic Woods Campground is in Winter Harbor and is a National Park Campground. You can take a ferry over and back to Bar Harbor where you can take a shuttles from Village Green to anywhere on Desert Island (Arcadia National Park).Schoodic Woods has Great camping sites that are level and scluded from other RV sites. You do not see your neighbors. Roads are nicely paved. All sites have a nice picnic table and fire pit. Camp sites are large.Bathrooms are kept very clean with a sink for washing dishes which also is kept very clean. All sites have electricity. Loop B has water and electric. If your RV needs water you can go over to Loop B to fill up.There is a free shuttle that goes around this Arcadia pennisula. Plenty of bike and hiling trails throughout Arcadia National park. Cell and Cellular data are also good at Schoodic Woods. Could watch High Definition movies on my laptop.Note: No showers here at Schoodic woods. This is why I only stay 4 nights at a time here. The rest of August I stay on Mount Desert Island at Mount Desert Narrows camground for the rest of August.

The campground was spotless. The staff are clearly taking very good care of it. The woman that checked me in was very nice, helpful, and pleasant to talk with. The facilities were great and the trails were a blast. Thank you and see you again soon!

There are hardly words to express how wonderfully accommodating the rangers and locals were at and around Schoodic Campground. We had the most peaceful, relaxing visit and hope to return again next summer en route to Newfoundland! Special shoutout to Ranger Jerry!

Beautiful, quiet campground. Im sure we werent the first to discover it, but Schoodic Peninsula is much less overrun with people than the main park on Mount Desert Island. If you havent been, give it a try.

We love the spacious sites. We rode our bikes on the trails which were great.

Everything we could ask for at the campground with the possible exception of showers. Rangers were amazing. And, the scenery was of course fantastic. Our new favorite camoground.

Schoodic Woods is a beautifully laid out campground in a most beautiful location. Our experience camping here would have been perfect if it had not been marred by other campers' dogs. Our initial two days we listened to constant barking across the street from our site. It was then wonderfully quiet until the last two days. Another camper in a next door site had two very noisy dogs. The last day of our stay, we had a huge dog from an unknown site at our door in our site. Loose. When the neighbors returned that same evening, one of their two small dogs broke loose and attacked me in the street while I was returning from the restroom. It then attacked and bit another camper returning from the bathroom. It seems like the dogs have taken over, and even though complaints are lodged, there are not enough rangers to solve the problem. I would like to see a no dog in the park policy. They are annoying everywhere in the park, not just in the campground. I need to know that I am safe in this park, and not subject to dog attacks at any given time. I'm sorry I cannot give a dog park the five star rating it would otherwise deserve.

Schoodic Woods campgrounds is beautiful and VERY well maintained. Each site is spacious and clean. This was my second time camping here and I have recommended it to friends, and will absolutely return here again. There are great biking trails and hiking trails from the campgrounds and a shuttle to bring you around the Loop road! Visit this beautiful area!

Incredibly beautiful park. We enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Like many others have commented, the lack of showers is a significant downside, especially for tent campers and those with smaller RVs - it just doesnt make sense.

Nice private site $21/night with electric with Sr. National Pass. Acadia proper about an hour away. Loved the small towns around Schoodic, many greats local restaurants including the Wrinkled Pickle for fish and chips and Chase's for breakfast. I appreciate the no night light rules for excellent star gazing. Would of given it a 5 if not for a hostile ranger who gave a smarmy answer when we asked about driving north on Route 1.
