Schoodic Woods is our favorite stay in Maine every summer. The hiking trails are lovely with varying degrees of difficulty. The Point never fails to WOW us, and the campground itself provides very private, well equipped sites.

We love this campground. Many sites have great privacy. It's great to be able to catch the bus early in the season to get around. It's fun to get off at the south end and hike back along the ridge to the campground. We also enjoy biking the roads and trails. Some spots on the gravel roads were a bit soft last year. So be cautious. We also used the campground as a jumping off point to head out for fresh water paddles on several lakes in the area. Plenty of other hiking opportunities close by or within less than an hour.

Beautiful, peaceful campground with spacious campsites, nice restrooms and good access to trails. We are so fortunate to have the National Parks and Forests for all to enjoy. Help protect them.

Schoodic Woods is a gorgeous, quiet, spacious campground. We were on the B loop, in site B31, which was super private and an easy pull-through close to the bathrooms. We did some hikes, went to Frazier Point at low tide, but sadly we saw no starfish. We went out to Schoodic Point, and I loved it. I wish we had planned to go there for sunset, because it was absolutely gorgeous!Really appreciated the dishwashing station to be able to keep our gray tank usage down, along with trash and recycle convenience. There was apparently a glitch with the Wi-Fi at the bathroom near our site, but if we walked over to it, we could get a connection to check weather or look up a restaurant. We will hopefully come back and stay longer than two nights the next time, because there's still so much more we would like to do in the area. We loved our experience on Mount Desert Island, but don't leave Schoodic Point out of your itinerary!
