Schoodic Woods Loop B is ideal if you need accessibility and standard hookups (electric and water). Each site is a pull-through so its easy to get in and out and privacy is pretty decent. The campground is very clean and well kept We felt very secure with park rangers driving by throughout the day.

The sites are relatively close together, but because of the design of the sites and the trees in between, the sites have a more secluded feel. The entire park was spotless. We watched the sunrise at Blueberry Hill, and it was breathtaking. The hiking trails were rustic but well-kept. I thoroughly enjoyed the hike on Lower Harbor Trail. I highly recommend Schoodic Campground. The only downside was no showers, but we were camping, so who cares, right? The ferry to Bar Harbor is not within walking distance, and biking only if you're in shape. It runs very intermittently in the off-season.

Unbelievable! What a great discovery! Paved roads with gravel sites. Ours was a pull through 150 long! Site separation was 100 feet. Thick vegetation in between including the wonderful smell of spruce trees.

B Loop pull throughs are amazing. Super long gravel sites, water and electricity. Good bathrooms that have outdoor dish washing stations (no showers in the campground or anywhere nearby!).Walk to the ranger station/registration to catch the bus (free, loops around the whole peninsula). Go to the touch tank with kids (but less touch than an aquarium and also more educational) and stop by the welcome center/main building. Bus will drop you off even though theres not a stop there, then wave a driver down when youre done. A lot of walking around the institute. Hiked to Little Moose Island during low tide and the kids loved it. Sunset on the peninsula (sweats and blankets in August!). Ranger talks good for all ages in the evenings (one night we were the only people with kids, everyone else at the jr ranger talk was adults). Such great learning experiences. Hiked some in the northwest section and did about 3 miles of a moderate/moderately easy hike with kids. Little convenience store and gas station in Winter Harbor. Only downside is the ferry to Bar Harbor (and the main Acadia area) is $36 per adult, making it quite expensive for a family of 4. If you plan to do this, buy tickets in advance because they sell out (especially of the last return trip of the day). We stayed 6 nights which we felt was long enough to experience the Schoodic side. Originally planned another 6 nights a week later but the cost of the ferry made it not worth it. This is a privately owned ferry company and nothing negative about Acadia or Schoodic, but was the biggest downside of the trip.

Traveling in a motorhome we enjoyed the beautiful, spacious, clean sites this park has to offer. From the friendly check in and ease of marked sites all was top notch. The beauty of this park and surrounding areas was one of the best in the USA, and we have traveled to most. All love for this beautiful park and residents. Thank you all.
