Quite with decent size sites. Weird but the bathrooms have running water and flush toilets, but no soap or paper towels, they do have hand sanitizer. The Park Ranger, who checked me in, KJ, was very friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful campground. We enjoyed staying here and spent one day visiting MDI.

THE best campground in the north east. My wife and I have been camping there for quite a few years.

The campground was very nice with large secluded sites spaced out between each other. Restrooms were well maintained and clean

The campground is very well maintained. Fairly level sites, well shaded. While you are close to your neighbors, the way the sites are shaped, you still have a great deal of privacy. The bath rooms are very clean, and spacious. While there are no showers most people are already aware of that. The staff, and the campground hosts are wonderful. Very helpful, and very friendly. The best part of my trip was staying in schoodic.

Clean and quiet campground with private sites. Beautiful scenery with close access to the loop road. We hope to be back, soon.

The Schoodic Woods campground is remote and not at all touristy, a big plus for us. All the ammenities were sufficient. Public restrooms were clean and modern.Schoodic Point is a must-see destination. It was nice being able to bike there on a one-way road with a low speed limiit. The scenery along the way is beautiful. We biked back to the campground on a bike trail that was uphill and crushed stone, which was difficult with the hybrid bikes we have. It would have been nicer to bike back on crushed gravel (a more finely ground version of crushed stone) - it might have helped with the uphill incline,There is a shuttle that can take you to Winter Harbor, where you can get a ferry to Bar Harbor. If you want to visit the main Acadia Park, plan several hours (3+) to see the main park and Bar Harbor. The ferry has a set schedule, so make sure you plan any activities with your ferry departure time in mind.

The pull-thru sites in Schoodic are massive. We have a 40' fifth wheel and could have easily fit 2 in our pull-thru. The ranger programs in the evenings are amazing. Easily walk to them from your site and then walk back after learning more about Acadia.

I saw no park service personnel during my stay. I got there to check in at 3:20pm and they had already closed the office at 3pm (I could have checked in earlier but they don't allow check in till 1pm) so I checked in by dropping my reservation form in the box the next morning when I left. I did have cell Verizon cell service at my site, but no wifi. The site itself was awesome, clean, spacious, private. Nice clean restrooms but no showers. This is my all time favorite campground, but I did miss having a chat with the park personnel..... I love walking the 8 miles or so of paved road (all one way) that goes right along the side of the ocean, and on the other side there is untouched forest. There is not much traffic and the walking is easy and awesome. There are great views of either sunrise or sunset whether on the east or west side of the penninsula. It is very rare that I have been unable to find a parking space within mile or so of where I would like to get out of the car to explore the coast.

Wow! This is a beautiful campground. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Schoodic. The forest around it is so thick, it makes it feel even more private than it already is. The sites are well spaced out. I chose a pull through specifically on this one so that our camp side would face the forest. Bike/Hike paths lead ride out of the campground making it very easy to get outside. The loop road is only about 6 miles in the park (about 9 total to get around to campground again) so it was quick to get back to the areas we wanted based on tides. Explore Schoodic Point at high and low tides for variety. Low tide for tidepooling (urchins, anemonea, etc). Park at Blueberry and walk back to a little pulloff near Little Moose Island - at low tide you can walk across gravel bar to the island and explore it for a couple hours. The Rangers and other staff were extremely friendly and helpful with information about where to go tidepooling, where to see seals, etc. I hope to come back to Schoodic soon.

We stayed at Schoodic Woods campground on several different occasions. The campsites are well spread out and feature electricity at every site. Water is available at some sites, also. There are several walking trails that can be accessed from the campground. The Lower Harbor Trail was our favorite with views of a cove after descending through a forested area. A gravel bike path passes through the campground that connects to other bike paths on the peninsula. The free "Island Explorer" bus stops at the campground office about every half hour and allows you to visit trails or sights along the Schoodic Loop Road. We went to Schoodic Point to watch the waves crashing on the rocks (rest rooms available). You can hop on or off the bus anywhere along the road giving you flexibility to hike a trail across the peninsula and then take the bus back to the campground. The bus goes through Birch Harbor and Winter Harbor allowing shopping or dining out.

De los mejores campgrounds que estuvimos en nuestro viaje por New England. Muy espacioso y tranquilo. Noches de estrellas increbles. Muy recomendable. Para ir a Acadia, recomiendo ir en barco. Muy buena excursin.
