Beautiful site that's easy to access but far enough away from the main front-country sites that it feels private and a little bit more "natural".

Awesome campground, beautiful view from hike-in site. Parking area close to clean, new restrooms. Perfect spot on the quiet side of Acadia!

Schoodic Woods is wonderfully peaceful and quiet. We stayed at one of the hike-in campsites. It's about an hour drive to popular spots such as Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and Cadillac Mountain.The campsites are clear and well-maintained. There is a "luxury primitive" toilet building. There is ample parking for the hike-in spots. There is a larger, plumbed restroom nearby. They don't allow wheels on the hike-in trails, so no wagons or carts to transport your stuff. There is no mention of wagons or carts on the list of prohibited items, which includes tiki torches and skateboards.Except for one instance regarding our wagon (see above), the rangers were friendly and informative. If you prefer the quiet and don't mind some scenic driving, it's a great place for solo hikers and families alike.

The campground is quite pleasant. Hike-in sites are very private. You have access to a wonderful network of trails to hike or bike that start at the grounds. The only drawback to this campground is the lack of showers on site.

Our hike in site was exactly as pictured on the website. The bear proof storage provided at the tent site was great. The campground is in pristine condition and the bathroom are spotless. Rangers were friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. Short from having some rowdy campers in the evening: the experience would have been perfect. Schoodic Pennisula is a magical place and I hope every camper will follow the rules to keep it that way!

I had booked at Blackwoods Campground for 3 nights in the peak season but made a mistake and we were scheduled to arrive a day early. After a few calls I got the ranger at Schoodic Woods directly on the phone. He held a walk-in site for us until we arrived. Vacation saved! I am very grateful for the extra effort that ranger made. I love Schoodic Woods!

Great landscape. Hike in sites didn't have much tree coverage, so very hot in the summer months. Plenty of space to set our 2 person tent and a pen for our dogs. Beautiful ocean views within a nice walk or short drive. Check in was a breeze. Great memories!
