The hike out campsites at Schoodic Woods are the best! We even got there after dark. Our campsite was easy to find, close enough to others where we felt safe, and secluded enough to where it was private and quiet! I absolutely would camp there again!

Beautiful, well kept campsite in the middle of the woods! We could not see or hear other campsites and yet we had less than a ten minute walk to our car! Great balance between comfort and isolation!

Wilderness site we stayed at had its own bear proof food storage unit, pristine surroundings and the illusion of seclusion. Park is managed incredibly well. Camping at Schoodic is the way to go.

What a great opportunity to visit Acadia and see it from a different angle.

One of the most beautiful campgrounds Ive stayed in. Our hike-in site was tucked in the middle of the woods far away from any other campsites and was absolutely a resetting experience. Loved it and cant wait to go there again!

Campsite was well marked, though path to site was less so. no water nearby, so pack in or trek to one of the sinks at the car camping sites. Ranger station closes at 4PM so be prepared to check in before 10AM the next day.

Surprisingly or not, it was my first time camping in a tent and the weekend chosen for that wasnt the best (Day 1- built the tent under a storm Day 2 - 50mi/h winds over night). However, my husband and I had one of our greatest times ever. Weve been to many places around the world but Acadia was beautiful, we manage to get a Hike-in site which demands a bit more of work since you have to park you car a bit far a then carry your stuff but OMG! waking up in the middle of the woods with no human noise and all you can see is Gods perfect creation makes everything else worthy. The park ranger visited us to make sure we were safe, the restrooms around the park are super clean and the hiking trails are amazing!Lower Harbor was an easy one that I certainly recommend, you can take a break at the beach to admire the views and the many little waterfalls along the trail are impressive!Ill be there again next summer.

Schoodic Campground was well organized, and well maintained. The Welcome Center was beautiful, and Rangers we met were friendly and helpful. Though the park was full we felt miles away from anyone. We did have a walk in site - but the whole campground felt roomy. We enjoyed hiking the Schoodic Head, Anvil and Alder trails, and hanging out on the coastline of Blueberry Hill. We hiked around Schoodic Point and Schoodic Institute and enjoyed the scenery around Frazer Point.. Additionally we found enjoyable restaurants in both Winter Harbor and Birch Harbor. Our stay was Wonderful. The one-way direction of the road makes it perfect for biking around the Schoodic Penninsula and in addition to hiking paths they had many bike paths. We spent two nights and felt we saw a lot of the penninsula during that timeframe.
