This campground was so clean and in great condition. The trails and especially the Lower Harbor Trail were unlike anything I've ever seen and were so magical. I wish i could have stayed a week long.

Beautiful campground large private tent sites with 20amp. Facilities are immaculate and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Busy with many sites but you dont seem to see much traffic. Dark Sky rules (no string lights) in place make it a very beautiful night sky the stars are so bright.

Best campground weve ever been to. The reservation site needs work. Every site I tried to book popped up a warning that it was a handicap accessible site. Turned out every site said that so we missed out on some time there

The campground was perfect! The site was surrounded by trees so it felt private (which was perfect with 2 kids and a dog) and the bathrooms were clean. The park rangers checking in were incredibly helpful in checking in and planning pet-friendly activities. A wonderful trip to Acadia and will definitely return to this campground!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. The campground was beautiful and the sites had plenty of space so that you felt like you were out in the wilderness. The restrooms were very clean. The evenings were very quiet so that you could hear nature and the ocean. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Camping at Schoodic has a different vibe than say, Blackwoods campground at the main park on Mount Desert Island. Schoodic is quieter and more laid back. There is also better wooded separation between most camp sites. The campground is relatively new and some of the vegetation is still filling in, so each year it gets better. It is very well laid out. When we were there we enjoyed stars at night, fog rolling in and out during the day, and the sound of the ocean at times from our tent. We still found ourselves going back to the attractions at the main park and Bar Harbor during the day, but there are hikes and some biking on Schoodic too. The tip of the peninsula provides great sunsets and when the swells are big the surf is exciting to watch and listen to. I liked that the online reservation system includes site dimensions and photos. Definitely worth check Schoodic out, especially if you have already stayed at Blackwoods and want some variety.
